hell, its a croc with a 50 cal. it already rolls infantry, so its a little better against infantry. Since it still doesn't effect vehicles except maybe really weak ht's the flame already burns i don't see how its a problem. Now if it gained a free main gun for its t1 fine.
TBH an m4 is still better then the croc anyday.

So the Crocodile's flamethrower is a passive ability too? And every other gun in the game except for artillery, which are activated abilities?

What the hell are you talking about. Do you know how the doctrine system works? You have passive abilities at the top and unlocks at the bottom, for which you pay.

You're calling a .50 cal on a crocodile a passive ability.

While it indeed is a 'passive' ability it still should be a UNLOCK instead that COSTS munitions. Giving away free resource as a tier 1 isn't the way EIRR should go. It'd be same if Gwagon got its MG for free as a tier 1

I'm arguing about the fact that calling a weapon a passive ability is absolutely retarded, and by that logic every weapon in the game is a passive ability.

But its not useful enough to be a tier 1 unlock

Jesus christ. The ability that grants the weapon is a passive ability. Just look it up on the doctrine draft. I really don't get how you can not understand this, nothing 'retarded' about it.

Can we replace Panzer Awareness with "All Tanks get MG42 upgrade for 0mu"?

Simpler way of putting it.
No ability in the top table is allowed to cost anything. Any kind of unit upgrades/unlocks that DO cost something are to be found in the bottom table. Currently the MG on the croc is free, therefore it is an ability in the top doctrine table.

It is still better tier 1 than +3 m more detection for all vehicles, or -10% more recieved accuracy. Hell its better than some Blitzkrieg's tier 2s. Free MG on a Sherman armored flammenwerfer that now ensures that escape is futile as it can suppress and effectively cut down infantry.

Okay, by that logic doctrine unlocks are passive abilities that enable you to buy certain things.
Mysthalin, if you read what I said it's very clear that I understand that a munitions cost is not for doctrine specialization. That doesn't change the fact that calling it a passive ability is retarded.

Okay, by that logic doctrine unlocks are passive abilities that enable you to buy certain things. If you pay for it it is no longer a passive ability because you don't gain it for free. That is how a passive ability works.

If it's free it's not a passive ability either, by the definitions of "passive" and "ability". If you want to really twist the definitions of passive and ability to their limit, then doctrine unlocks can be called passive abilities too. The words "passive" and "ability" have absolutely nothing to do with a cost whatsoever.
This is easily the most retarded and pointless argument I've ever started.

Okay. Look it's really simple. Take a look at the doctrine layout You have passive abilities in the upper part of the sheet and Unlocks at the bottom. Passive abilities are buffs to your units that you have every single game you play. For no cost. Unlocks are exactly the opposite, you won't get any use out of them except when you purchase them (except for offmaps), which is why NightRain wants to move the Free Passive Croc MG to the unlocks table. Yeah, it is really that simple! No need to look up any definitions on an online dictionary to understand how this works.

EliteGren, Artekas please
That argument is somewhat invalid to the Topic. It is detrailin' down from it. It'd be a great pleasure for me for us all to return at the topic at hand.
Tier 1 that gives something that other similar ones has to pay for. It comes pretty much 'free' without munition charge and that's what I find stupid. Ontop of it it is the Sherman .50 Cal which is insanely good. If it comes with a 50 cal or MUST come with one make it at least Halftrack one to compensate. Its a tier 1 everyone gets it I see no point there. Its currently the best tier 1 there is.

And again you are not reading what I'm saying. I've said it twice already, three times now - I UNDERSTAND HOW DOCTRINE SPECIALIZATIONS AND DOCTRINE UNLOCKS WORK PERFECTLY. Will caps get it through this time? We'll see.
Doctrine specializations are not passive abilities. Even if they were, by the twisted meaning you'd be using doctrine unlocks would be too, because COST has nothing to do with if something is PASSIVE.
(PS If you are fluent in English and have to look up either passive or ability in a dictionary, kill yourself)
