I have played a few times against this unit and have come to the conclusion that it needs to be balanced a bit better. At the moment, it has a amazing rate of fire, good penetration, and very good damage for a relatively cheap unit.

Now I did try and do some research and the ones I went up against did not have any doctrine buffs, I am referring to the basic unit.

My recommendation here is to either lower its rate of fire, decrease its damage, decrease its penetration, or increase its cost. Its cost would have to go up to around 150-180 fuel and take the role of a medium tank destroyer. It can even do somewhat well against infantry if it kites them, although its by no means a reliable AI unit. But that should be considered in any balance discussion.

Think of it functioning as a Tetrarch with a littlejohn adapter. They both do the same role.

in coh these two different units have two different names. this allows us to talk about one of  them without being confused if it is the other.

My tet for example cannot reliable penetrate a P4 IST, and the damage it does is trivial. In comparison, the hotchkiss can penetrate my cromwell extremely well and does about 1/6 of its health per shot. Someone compare the two against medium armor, the results should speak for themself.

Really? You want this to have the cost of an M10 when it's nowhere near as good? Think about what you're saying.

na, i think it is just that damn good if you use it as anti medium armor. this thing just rapes. Ok, so maybe not 190 fuel, but 80 or 90 fuel is way to cheap. It should be more or less 100-120 fuel, its far more potent than any other 50mm imo. Compare it to the puma for example....there is no comparison.

I never had problems penetrating on my non-littlejohn tetrarchs.. if the hotchkiss is hte same idea of unit, why should it suck comparably?
