lol they're fine, they're swarming units. i've seen them used quite effectively tbh. the 37 is great against infantry and the 50mm is good against tanks and can snipe at infantry too. They're meant to be used to support other units, not on their own.

IF u have a marder and a hotch together, the hotch guards the marder against a vehicle flanking it. or you can use a couple of them to flank one tank and take it out. they're really not to be used in frontal assault

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Or you can, you know, just use a LATHT and a Marder....same AT ability, plus focus fire and Treadbreaker.

And less pop + resources.

Honestly, the only people supporting the Hotch are the ones who have no experience with it, and have no idea what they're talking about. There is, in fact, two threads on the issue, because the Hotchkiss really does suck that bad.

Saying that a Light AT Halftrack has the same AT capability as the Hotchkiss is a joke and you know it. The only thing a Light AT Halftrack can do is its abilities.

It can snipe at infantry like fireflies and ATGs can snipe at infantry... it's not really something you'd consider it good at.

I have plenty of experience with the Hotchkiss, but thanks for making broad generalizations that have no basis in reality. It really helps your argument.

Can someone upload a video or a replay that includes a well used hotchkiss vs a good team? because im really struggling with them and its quite disheartening knowing there are people out there who do well with them when im struggling so badly.

Fireflies have much better accuracy vs infantry than ATG's, a hotchkiss is on a similar level to an ATG vs infantry IIRC, you might get a lucky hit here and there, but overall its the worst vehicle in the game vs infantry I think due its 0.25 moving infantry modifier.

Any help would be appreciated.

and less mobility. the latht can't kill tanks and the marder has only straight forward speed. but to each his own.

Fireflies have much better accuracy vs infantry than ATG's,

It's good that you can make shit up, but this is not true at all. ATGs have 0.15x accuracy against infantry, Fireflies have 0.35x accuracy against infantry. ATGs have an overall accuracy modifier of 0.9x at medium range and 1.25x at short range, while Fireflies have an overall accuracy modifier of 0.92x at medium range and 1x at short range. ATGs cannot fire while moving, if a Firefly fires while moving it's a further 0.5x modifier. All other modifiers regarding hitting infantry are the same.

We've been over this before, 50mm Hotchkiss are better than Fireflies at killing infantry. I don't know how you just managed to completely wipe this from your memory in such a short time. The Hotchkiss has a bit less accuracy (about half) but fires at a significantly faster rate that makes up for it, and on top of this the Hotchkiss has splash. And this is of course assuming the infantry are moving, if the infantry are standing still in cover the 50mm Hotchkiss will do significantly better than the Firefly.

PS because I just realised carrot, you say there's two threads on the issue so it must suck... yet one of the threads is about it being overpowered. Herpderp. Besides that, it doesn't really matter if something has two threads about it. That isn't proof of a balance issue.

so are you saying most games that include a firefly and atg that the firefly will get less infantry kill than any of the ATG's? come now...we both know statistics doesnt give the whole picture.

I dont suppose there is any chance of someone teaching me to use hotchkiss with a little video is there?

Since you all claim to have experience using it, shouldnt be hard to quickly find a replay and jsut fastforward to the good bits where it does well.

I understand the pleasure that comes from being a devils advocate Art, I do, however it becomes tiresome for everyone else around here after a bit too. Just thoght id give you a heads up.

A firefly is also significantly more costly than an ATG, and tends to stick around on the battlefield longer.

You seem to be forgetting that with every single patch every replay we have is invalidated.

Also stop being a dumbass.

He is on quite often to be honest, pretty sure i have played at least one game with him.

While a firefly is more costly then an ATG, its existance on the battlefield being longer isn't neccesairily true

lol @ 11on2d6, I've never played under any name but Artekas. You might not have seen me on recently because I stopped playing while Omniscience was broken, which just got fixed.

a FF is also 3 times the population. I also feel the need to remind you that we still have not tweaked the Firefly after having removed some vCoH mechanics a while back during the CCT super stacking days. Which means it's weaker then it should be.

CCT is still amazing. Go watch Tyms vet 3 cct + firefly. God knows how Tym gets all those vet 3 ccts, but they make his vehicles real punishers.

They also make the 95mm cromwell ridicolous.

Another allied perk.

No secret to getting a vet 3 cct, just use a priest and its there in about 2-3 games.
