Instructions:

Create a custom CoH unit that does not currently exist in EIRR.

It needs to be in an RGD type format, with visual references.
If I wanted to put this unit into the game tomarrow, all I would have to do is copy your contest entry and it should work.

Make it origonal, make it interesting, you can do infantry units, tanks, support weapons, concept vehicles, whatever, but if you do something like the Maus or the Ratte, you might get DQ'ed for lack of originality. Wink

We've done this competition before, so I have an example of what Id like to see. Here's my own entry.

Top 3 Entries will get a slot in the Warmap Beta test starting on the 18th.

Summary:

The P40 was an Italian World War II tank design. It was armed with a 75 mm gun and an 8 mm Breda machine gun, plus another optional machine gun in an anti-aircraft mount. The official Italian designation was Carro Armato ("armored tank") P 26/40. This designation can be understood as follows: P for Pesante (Italian: "heavy"), the weight of 26 tons, and the year of adoption (1940).

Design had started in 1940 but very few had been built by the time Italy signed the armistice with the Allies and the few produced afterwards were used by the Germans.

Gameplay notes:

Essentially, a faster, lighter P4, with the diversity of the P4 gun, for PE as an option to fall between the stubby P4, and the hetzer.

Summary: The Skink AA tank wasn't exactly used very much at all in WWII but it did see some action in Market Garden. This is a
cool Canadian AA tank that could be availible for the Royal Engineers.

Gameplay notes
Gives PE a flamethrower suited to them, in light tank form. Remedies that they are the only faction without a flamethrower. Used the Flammenwerfer Halftrack as a basis. Only one flamethrower so half as powerful, also slower, more pop, more costly, no dodge bonuses. In return for all this, it is more durable and has a unique upgrade. It's not as much of a cheap throwaway as the flammenwerfer halftrack but it's not as durable or not-facing-disablers as the Crocodiles, and it's barely got more range than stickies, so it has an upgrade that will make it actually useful.

NOTES:

this is a Light TANK, not a armored car.  As such it is impervious to small arms fire, yet very susceptible to anti tank fire.  The vehicle is a wwII light recon tank.  It was fast, and it had a definable roll in the wehrmacht army.  I feel that this roll is currently not expressed in EIRR and that this tank would indeed fill a niche.  the 20mm cannon has all the stats of the armored car / puma guns, with the Tungston Rounds (which was really used to penetrate armor in this vehicle in wwII) will make long / medium range shots penetrate at 75% base value.  Most tanks have a - modifier to this making it reasonably useless against anything larger then a light vehicle / mobile armor piece, but allows it the ability to tackle other light vehicles should the ability be ready for use)  (using a custom penetration values in target table for this purpose.)

Having this unit in the Armor pool makes the meta game choice a much more interesting one for the axis, 2 Luchs, or an ostwind.  Right now the only light vehicles the Werhmacht have is the HT-Flammenwerfer, HT-STuka, HT, 50mm Puma and the 20mm Puma.  The puma and HT varients suffer from odd pathing with their AI styles, but the Puma compensates with Phase armor.  The Luchs will be a wonderful hit and run vehicle, for anti infantry attacks, but will lack the phase armor and will rely instead on its slightly higher hitpoints and speed to survive its sorties.  You could argue to have this tank as a light vehicle, but again being able to max out Vehicle pool on luch's isn't something that should be promoted, and if it was to be a vehicle pool the pool cost would have to be increased.  As an armor cost you are reducing main battle tanks availability by purchasing Luch's.  Hence the 5 pool cost.  It strikes a balance by being in armor.

The population of most likewise vehicles is either 6 or 8 depending on their roll.  As this Tank has the ability to damage other light vehicles and zoom around the map I believe a population of 8 is a smarter starting point then 6 would be.

I have finished most of the rgd work on this tank already, I haven't done the tungston rounds ability or the lock out + sight while in stealth yet but that will be done shortly after posting this.

It's a creativity contest. Dont know where you guys got it that we were actually going to be using these ideas for anything, its just a competition.

Summary:
This tank was generally used in the late stages of WWII in afrca against Rommel and his Panzer army. The Role of this tank was to provide medium tank support. allthough it had quite thin armor for a main battle tank, it had the advantage of speed and could very often outflank german panzers.  On the frontside of the tank there was a coaxial machine gun with a sight port. The coaxial machine gun was quite useless though as it was awkward to use and often left unmanned to provide quicker loading. (possible ability) The crusader had five road wheels on each side to improve traction and had thick, tight treads. The Tank itself had a great telespoic steady scope for accurate firing while on the move.
 
Gameplay notes:

In general its a quicker Hit and run version of the cromwell, not meant for battling heavy axis tanks but meant to fight back the light vehicles and light panzers. it can also double as an infantry support tank due the fact it has HE rounds avaliable to it. Fragile but versatile.
