I only watched the one trailer that popped up on homefront's website where there was much blah blah blah about kim jong il's son then an occupied US.

NK conquering Asia eh? All without our intervention? All without Russia's intervention? What the shit? Either way. It's STILL far fetched and supremely retarded. NK is only a regional power in that they have enough men and material to bum rush their neighbors, but any attempt at a protracted war would spell doom for them (admittedly at the cost of thousands and thousands of lives for whoever opposes them).
Plus I love how this global oil crisis only affects every other country in the world, but not NK. They somehow manage to conquer Asia AND the US while... what? We're impotent to stop them? Fess up, man. It's a ridiculous story line, but you're excited to play it because you love that action packed cheesy shit.

Mal you really should shut up.

North Korea does NOT conquer all of Asia, North Korea no longer exists, Korea (might of the north, tech of the south) forms an alliance with all of Asia.

Extreme amounts of research has proven that the East would deal with an oil Crisis alot easier then the west. As for Russia, China and NK its alot easier for the government to say, ok civies can no longer buy gas, it all goes to the military. Lets take bicycle usage in China, whats oil?

Just to recap.

Games story goes.    * 2011: North Korea's weapons program grows significantly, leading to sanctions by the UN
    * 2012: Kim Jong-il dies. He is succeeded by his son Kim Jong-un
    * 2013: Kim Jong-un reunites North Korea and South Korea under North Korean rule.
    * 2015: Gas prices rise to $20 a gallon in the United States, destabilizing the country
    * 2017: The US Dollar collapses and the US Military begins to downgrade its foreign presence
    * 2018: Japan surrenders to the Greater Korean Republic, forming an 'alliance' (i.e. being capitalized into a vassal state of sorts)
    * 2022: The United States' economic system collapses totally
    * 2024: Koreans annex many nations in East Asia
    * 2025: GKR attacks the US
    * 2025: An EMP hidden in a communications satellite is used to completely disable US infrastructure
    * 2025: GKR forces seize Hawaii
    * 2025: Cyber attack takes down hardened sites
    * 2025: Korean troops control San Francisco
    * 2026: US military is scattered

Mals Version. NK invade china, kill russia invade US

his reaction, this story crap

my reaction- Red Dawn, Apocolypse Now I love the smell of naplam in the morning

I should "shut up"... really... how small of you.

Well thanks to your concise summary, you have shown me that the story is in fact, still retarded bullshit. Sorry I misread your earlier posts. Thanks for clearing that up.

A coalition.. LED by North Korea... as opposed to the REAL powerhouse in Asia, which would be China. I read once that they were remaking the Red Dawn movie with Asians replacing those dirty commie Russians and Latin Americans. Is this 'Red Dawn - The Remake - The Video Game'?

And not to split hairs, but I never said they 'kill russia'. Also, it looks better when you capitalize before a new sentence.

All the complexities of modern politics and diplomacy... boiled down to "Big Asian coalition invades US because, fuck.. why not?" The point stands. The game is far fetched and looks dumb. You don't have to take it so personally though. Your a sensitive one, aren't you?

This sounds like the kind of game that Americans would try to change, due to it being offensive to their country, no?

Althou Mal, If you want to play the Big boy card, then you should also be mature enough not to retaliate as hard as you did and just know when to drop a Fire fight as this is, since its only gonna get moderated

Not really, i understand how you Americans get very easily offended by the idea that your not the impregneble and undefeatable country you think you are.

Once again it shows that you really don't get it. A coalition led by the Greater Korean Republic. Its not north korea, it just happens to have a leader from the one time Northern Korea.

So lets boil it down to, Big Asian Coalition invades the US to remove rival power while it is in turmoil, before it can get back on its feet and become a threat again.

Once again, there is no North Korea in this game.

But he gets so upset, Heartmann. I can't help it.

2013... We'd never allow NK to absorb SK. It wouldn't happen. The South Korean people wouldn't let it happen. First huge, stupid flaw in that half-assed, stupid story.

I'll write a story... about how Canada becomes militaristic and invades the US. The US, always seeing Canada as our friendly and polite neighbors to the north are taken totally by surprise!

Half assed and stupid yes? Still better than that pile of garbage that is Homefront.

And not necessarily spinn. America loves being the underdog. It's why our history classes ignore the eastern front of World War 2 and focus only on Japan and the Normandy invasion.

Your classes ignore the eastern front, because it shows Russia winning ww2 for the allies which is goddamn embaracing due to the piss poor egotistic job the US actually did.

Not being to help yourself is not the best sign of maturity ^^ But I do understand it, sometimes its just to juicy not to have a throw down, but id rather see that stuff in vent tbh, since there:

1. It dont disturb the current thread,

2. the flaming and retaliation that is rather boring is kept on the down low

Conceptually, i find Homefront's story quite intriguing. I like it because the whole game's selling point is the story, not the shoot up koreans with no context aspect that you get with most other FPS.

Also, it's irrational to blanket Americans with such a superiority complex. (we just have a run away government that only listens to us at polling time.)

As if I would be offended by a video game. Nonsense, lol

Personally i love the look of the multiplayer that i have seen so far. I am hoping they get smart and leave all that teribad bullshit 'perk' system out.

My bad -- My post was in response to the new Medal of Honor game where EA had to change the name from Taliban to Opposing Forces, turns out it was an American citizen who came from Afghanistan.
