Hi, this have been annoying me for some time now..

Take for instance, the cromwell, im engaging a repairing AT halftrack, while other at firering, i know that i can slip away with that kill but here comes the annoying thing..

Some vehicles let you target vehicle and then point your route around it, the cromwell howsoever keeps auto targeting for the heaviest vehicle or the most serious one.. that way i cant move whilst driving..

Im sure theres some other vehicles as this..

Would be awesome if i could target and drive as any other vehicle can...

Is it intended to be that annoying? ;/D

Its the targeting priority, it needs to be changed to have all things equal so it only shoots what you tell it to.

I don't think there's anything that can be done about it, it's just the way that relic's target priority system works.

tbh. i think for the sake of eir micro, all vehicles need to have everything equal so u can target whatever you like whenever you like.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

such a pain running circles around a 50ml with a cromwell when you gotta keep reclicking for the attack on the 50ml cuz it attacks something else.

Does that actually work?

There would also be the issue of people using other units to 'bait' - but I imagine that would be minor.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

It should, its why infantry engage enemy infantry over a bike or a jeep.

If all targets are equal priority then they attack the first thing that comes into range. unless you click on a specific target.

If say a stormie squad had higher priority over a pak, the axis player could use his stormie squad as bait to be able to get the pak to get a few more shots in, and the auto targetter restets everytime the crommie moves targeting the stormies and so on...

Baiting wouldn't be an issue, it would be a strategy.

You want to fly in a willy nilly after a 50, and get hidden tigered thats your dumb fault.

giving all units the same target priority sucks ass. Take for example the ATG: If an infantry squad and a tank drive at it, the atg could just as well start shooting the inf instead of the tank.
The way target priorities work is this: every weapon gives all units a number, how higher the number how higher the priority for the weapon to shoot that unit. There is also a 2nd number that sets the number of current target. so you might think ok, lets just set this number really high then. but the problem is that if an infantry squad walks to an atg and the atg now starts shooting at the inf it will pick them as the current target automatically. so if next a tank drives up the atg will still be shooting the inf squad and not target the tank.

I think a tank will also prefer to shoot at something the gun is aiming at, what means that if you are circling an enemy and because of that the turret suddenly points to another enemy the tank will start shooting that. maybe this should be set off for units that usually circle enemies?

I think setting all vehicles to equal number (a number above the main target number) and then all inf squads also equal but below the main target number will be the best way to do it. I cant be sure though, the system is really limited and needs a lot of testing. (another issue is that editing all the numbers to do a test is a TON of work)

I don't think anyone suggested giving everything the same target priority against everything, just make it so that vehicle guns have the same target priority against everything they're meant to fight so that you can circle with them not being completely useless and shooting off at something else.

Also it'd be super cool if we could fix glider priority while we're at it, so my anti-tank weaponry would stop shooting it at a crucial moment.
