and it reminded me how much I hate brits in vcoh.  It was a 2v2 match, with one brit and 1 american on allies, vs 2 wehr.  The british player blobbed a nice large group of infantry and anything that sat still got artied.  Why do I mention this?  Because this is virtually the same experience I receive these days playing against an RCA player in EIR.  And it is the exact opposite of fun.  Vs most RCA players in EIR here, it is beatable, since EIR doesn't have the same resource system as vcoh which exaggerates the obnoxiousness of brits, but it is not fun.  It is a pain in the ass, and even if I win, it still feels tedious rather than enjoyable.  I just feel like getting away from this is one of the reasons I play EIR, and lately, I'm not feelin it...

I know most players would definitely agree with you there.

Agreed.

EIRR right now is overwhelmed by offmaps and blobbing. Whoever has more of either wins.

It will become more blobbing now because Relic killed the kangaroo carrier..
But tbh what else can the brits do to win, if they must ignore kangroo and blobbing it really is a pain in the ass to win as the wehr always grow stronger than any other army.

I'm not sure if this is really a balance discussion?

Either way, for next patch we are looking at addressing some of these concerns in regards to spam and off-maps.

the off maps are just really powerful and need a tone down imo. as for blobbing, there's blobbing on both sides. i've seen storm blobs, commando blobs, ranger blobs, rifle blobs, pg blobs, volks blobs, gren blobs, support blobs, tank blobs, arty blobs, nebel blobs, hummel blobs (Gorkhali) etc. etc.

The fact is the allies have less variety in its infantry than the axis do so instead of being able to do like wehr and have a choice between volks, grens, kch and for blitz stormtroopers or for PE they've got pgs, assault grens, tank busters, luftwaffe and fj's

the amis get Rifles...then rangers and airborne
Brits get Tommys (Canadian Inf) and Commandos

so it seems like the allies blob more but thats only because of the limited unit choices, in a way the allies NEED to blob because their infantry dont' stand well alone vs axis infantry, especially now that grens get 2x lmgs back, i can't tell u what a horror those are.

So, axis get more versatile choices and different types of infantry, while the allies get more specialized infantry.

It's all in how u like things. i like specialization, so i stick with my allies, even when i play as wehre i go all volks cuz im used to playing as Americans.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

axis blobs are fail...u dont see any topic complaining about those, since they get raped easly...if they get supressed, they die, while allies ones can for most of the times just escape supress or kill mg that supressed them...

why would you wanna blob storms for god sake??!!

Off-maps should be precision strikes that you use against strategic positions like 88s not huge explosions that kill everything and everyone.

In what ways do they get toned down? They where restricted for a while and people complained, then limit gets lifted and then they become and issue again.

The fact that the multiplication of the off-map increase as the game size increase is another factor. In a 1v1 having 2 each would be fine, but in a 3v3 that becomes 6 + and in officer based calls in we could be talking about upwards of 10+ of these types of abilities.

even at 1 each 5+ possible types of off-maps and call in abilities that are offensive inclined.

So as some have said the game now is very saturated in off-maps, pretty fair call, how you do balance it without suddenly swinging the the blob having complete dominance which happens when off-maps aren't available in large numbers.

So in the end blobs (spam) and Off-maps, months and months of posts basically revolve around these two inter-related issues.

There is a war-map on the horizon and what really needed is a balance solution that resolves these two issues together and not separately.

Thoughts?

It seems like we are running in circles indeed, the gameplay pendulum swings from little blobbing but restrictive company builds to extreme blobbing due to unrestricted company builds and back.

As far as off-maps are concerned, we already stated we are considering moving to a (mild to moderate) munitions price on them, so that they are no longer 'freebies' and inflict a cost on your company like all upgrades and damage-dealing things do. (Also balances them out better with doctrines that have less artillery orientated off-maps or less powerful artillery off-maps)

The warmap cards could then give you extra uses, one time free use, cost reduction, or whatever

In addition to this, we will also look at some of the off-maps simply being too powerful, or some doctrines having too many artillery off-maps, etc.

They're two seperate issues with two very different solutions and I think a solution to the blobbing problem that does not limit company freedom too much is much harder to come up with than a solution for the off-map problem. But both need to be fixed, that's a given.

I dont see any complains about axis off maps and axis blobs, only about allied ones...so how is it gonna give blobs more dominance than they have right now?

i wanna complain about falls blobs, my stags can't kill them fast enough!

Hard capping officers has not broke the game. I repeat, hard capping officers has not broke the game.

Did I happen to mention hard capping officers has not broke the game?
OK, great, now everybody is aware that hard capping officers did not break the game.

Hard capping stops spam. No spam means no need for mass off maps to stop spam. Very simple solution folks, we do not need a rocket scientist for this one.

Hard capping does not limit your builds at all. As American, you only get Sherman or Pershing for tanks (not tank destroyers). That's it, only two tanks to choose from.. Does this limit your builds? Of course not.

The same  for the number of each kind of unit you get. Learn to micro and macro with the units  at hand. Hard caps are no more limiting than pop caps, manpower, munitions, and fuel are. Hard caps will stop spam and make us better players.

Hard capping officers did not break the game, but it sure stopped officer spam......
