All terror needs to become my favorite doctrine is the Tiger Ace. Fuck the KT. If Terror had no other doctrine unlocks/buffs... as long as it had the Tiger Ace - I'd play it.

So what would we do with the KT then? Reward unit?
(Just throwing out hypotheticals for discussion here. I'd prefer to keep the KT, myself.)

Panther Ace

Veni.

That would be incredibly awesome, and interesting to stat out.

EDIT: Actually, as an Ace/upgrade ability for the panther Ace or KT, I wonder if it's possible to add the S-mine launchers that the Tiger from the ToV Tiger ace campaign had. One-shot, of course. Or smoke launchers that fire the same way, maybe.

I see the regular pattern is still largely unbroken :

Things I would love to see in Terror.

Grens with SMGs; Terror Officer with MP44; PIII/Flammpanzer III; Nebelwerfer Gas Barrage (large area effect debuff and light DoT)

Some of these suggestions are awesome, and can be well balanced. IMO any kind of 'officer' that can buff/change stats should stay specific to Defensive doctrine.

I think mods will highly disagree with debuffs. Weren't they the reason why the Terror officer got ditched in the first place? Light DoT and a medium AoE would be sweet. A Flame tank with no turret, like a STuG, would be sweet. Mirroring a Sherman Croc would be a bad idea imo.

Terror officer got sacked because he could call on a fast-drop stun rocket every minute or such, was invincible to small arms(outhealed damage with his awesome health and armour) and could slow anything around him in a huge radius.
All that on top of costing something silly like 60 munitions.

He was so OP I was too disgusted to even begin to use them(the only other unit that managed to get this kind of response from me was the kangaroo - and even then I had to try it around a couple games before I deemed it heretically OP).

The slow was just stupid! But yeah, just saying that they don't really need to exist due to the already strong nature of Wehr units. If they did, their buffs (or debuffs =\) would need to be toned down to even half that of what current British officers have. I like the idea of a 1 man squad with an mp44 and can survive 2 to maybe 3 sniper shots with no regen.

It's not like any new Terror officer *must* have the same stats and abilities as the old one, y'know. This would probably be a good opportunity to rectify those mistakes anyway.

Not saying anything against the terror officer's return.

I explained the reasons why the terror officer was sacked - when the general notion had been he was sacked because of debuffs, and that therefore debuffs should never make a comeback.

Which is just a wrong attitude to have.

What is wrong with debuffs? Yea, they can counter your buffs to some extent. The US Officer for instance was never meant to be added on top of US Infantry stats so its just pure gravy unlike the LT and CPT.

But a Terror Officer that debuffs nearby units accuracy and cooldown would be fine. It has to get close and is one guy that you can focus fire down. Hence the T4 Squad that does the same but costs more. Sure, you can still stop it with a tank, but that's all fair.

Gas attacks again, oh no? Your mans are debuffed. Better than straight up dead from an offmap arty barrage and possibly better than being hit with a nebel. But it would be interesting.

Axis don't need a copy of the Croc you say? I suppose, but it wouldn't be a copy of a Croc, it would be a flame tank yes. That's like saying the Allies don't need a heavy tank like the Jumbo or Pershing because thats what the Axis do.

EDIT#3: Gas shells for the Axis mortar? From some research it seems that Germany was too worried about reprisals to use it's (very nasty) stocks of nerve gas on the Western front.

no it wasn't used because hitler was blinded for some time because of a gas attack when he fought in world war 1

On the other hand, who wants to argue realism in this?

Cloaking, Pershings, Fire Up, etc. shouldn't even be in the game =)

was just a comment why it wasnt used

sure we can add some gas rounds to mortar

but actually i would like to see the flame tank

but wehrmacht already got a flame halftrack but it sucks
maybe that thing should be made usefull by giving it churchill croc flame criticals/damage/range and puma armor or something

Yea, I was actually agreeing with you and pointing that out to Voleron.

I would love to see Terror go close combat style fighting though with some debuffs to make up for having lack of long ranged support buffs.
