Riki is right in the suspension and thrill of surviving. L4D has always been an arcade game, the graphics are arcadish, the zombies are bland and there is no element of horror. Im looking for Horror, from which you, even if it is campaignish, + FEAR graphic and fps engine (realistic firearms and believeable graphis) that add realism.
But also the fundemental part of all modded zombie games, of barricading yourself in to wait out the horde.. or fight off the horde.

I also remember when i was a little lad, of resident evil on ps1, that has always captured my imagination of zombie games, though graphics were shit, it had intense suspense of fighting of zombies, battling with the horrible controls ( i dunno i always imagined my guy horribly nervous and scared the fuck out of his mind so i couldnt control him properly ) and surviving, gathering supplies etc. and when you die the red spotlight shines on you, and you see yourself being torn apart limb from limb

Ive have played those realism modes with expert on L4D2 but its jsut all about, oh fuck now you have to aim for the head, oh wait, you are fucking awesome in aiming for the head, and you also have automatic weapons.

L4d is a Zombie shooter. They swarm you and you shoot them. Theres nothing scary about that.

Suspense games are where it's at. I still feel that the First Aliens VS Predator game was the scariest thing I've ever played.


Zombie games need more children. They'd be easier to hide in small places and harder to shoot
