Yes, but you don’t need anti infantry when you have battle hardened grenadiers. The biggest treat to your own infantry is light vehicles and tanks…

Tiger = Infantry supports tank
Panther = Tank supports Infantry

Considering the amount of AT-guns in allied companies, and the fact that the Tigers AT capabilities isn’t what it used to be, then the second option is clearly the better choice (with current priceing/metagame). Add to this that going with the Panther instead og the Tiger frees up 3 points of doctrinal unlocks…
Thats your preference lol. Nothing wrong with the tiger or panther.

You dont need battle hardened grenadiers if you got a tiger lol.

Lightning War is hands down the best buff for the tiger but in my opinion it cannot compete with the smaller tank buff you get from Panzer Aces in combination with the HUGE buff on your infantry from Battle Hardened. Dual T3 is fail…

Dude, I’m president of the Tiger fanboy club, but I’m telling you that it isn’t worth it in the current metagame…

Then dont get it lol... Metagame doesn't fully dictate balance. Obviously people changed due to the massive amount of heavy armour axis fielded, and many axis still field. And by matching there response you picked the panther. Good for you.

Metagame doesn't fully dictate balance.

but mainly it does.

It is logic that when m18/m10 gets buffed, allies get new tanks and new tank destroyers, panther gets buffed, hetzer gets buffed , gwagen gets buff -  people will use more of them and not the tiger which has stats  from the first versions of vcoh from 5 years ago.

how come that a Wehr Panther, even on Vet 1 and standing, cant hit anything? It just missed a M8 and a Tetrarch about 8 times out of 10 shots. Is that normal in EiR or had I just bad luck?

well tetrach has phase armour,so that helps him dodge shots. Vet1 doesnt help you hit things. missing 8/10 shots is just bad luck.

back pre-tov there was no m18  and m10 had 40 range, same as tiger.

It was time when Tiger was decent for its job, unlike today.

proof

http://planetcoh.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Units.Detail&id=32

here is an older site with stats - max range ,long - '40 range'

Those probably are vcoh/ early OF stats ,  as m10 even has 6.8 speed  and 4.2 reload.

A good reason for STuG to go to 45 range.

STuG gun is bleh vs infantry, there are so many better options.

M18 for instance, kills infantry, and tanks, as well as DESTROYING light armor.

It is faster, has longer range, a turret, is only slightly more in cost and can handle a much wider range of situations. On top of that, you know an M18 can kill any medium armor on the field. A STuG you have to field more support for less gain.

Yes, and cloaking, and ambush shot, etc.

I just wanted to make a point that the STuG is sub par in almost every fashion right now. It should be given a proper role in EIR, preferably making it the equivalent to the M18/M10.

This would also make the STuH more handy to have, as you would want it to perform AI duties alongside your STuGs.
