I would love to be able to feature the gameplay of people who are better at Shogun 2 than myself. If you've been watching my Avatar Conquest videos you know that I'm on a pretty horrible losing streak, and so I've decided to give it up. You, on the other hand, are probably much better than me! So, if you have an interesting match (and you remembered to grab the replay for it) send it to me! Never seen a shogun 2 replay, looks interesting although you should consider zooming in once in a while. (For an outsider likes myself, it all looks kind of dull from that perspective)

We've actually got quite a few good players in Shogun 2. Me and Claudio wrecked face and him and another guy are too. We've got a Clan that only has like 11 members or something but we're consistently at the top of our tier and we jump up every few days

I took a hiatus while I was waiting for ATI to do a driver update and now that they Have I've been playing it again. Still bummed that I lost out on like 20 wins from when the game first released and their stats reporting was down. I've got like a 3-1 or 4-1 win ratio. I hadn't lost a match for my first 11 games.
I was also bummed out that I hadn't earned a Random post battle item drop in like 2 weeks

Shogun rocks! Side note, Hattori is not an easy clan to play, so in case you get the Collectors, as i did, don't trust the campaign placement, its ludicrously hard to play But a very fun clan ^^ |

Well depends, against heavy armored targets you will need Samurai archers, against peasants you can use Ashigaru archers. Then you have the monks who are extremely weak against archer fire.
A good mixture will do, although melee >range in most cases. A full melee army will win a lot of times.

My army doesn't run any archers. I've used Matlock Samurai since day one. I got laughed at for it but now I get called called an abuser. Matchlock units don't care how armoured you are and look awesome when they fire. The Bow Warrior Monks are great archers but they are just peasants with improved morale and tiny hand to hand improvement.
The same applies for Matchlock monks. The reason I use Samurai Matchlocks(and would use Samurai Archers) is because they function pretty weel as combat units in a pinch as well as being excellent main line ranged units.
I don't even know how many times an overzealous general has strayed within 100 range of my Matchlocks only to meet a volley of shot and die.
Seige units are still strong in Shogun 2 but I`ve never lost a game to them. Even the dicks who use an exploit and get multiple Seige units I still crushed.
