it could probably work as a 4v4 map.

lol nug you must know my play style by now my at relies solely in my atgs and tanks piats while awesome for griefing just arent my sort of thing

I like bastion becasue it can simulate urban warefare which i admit sometimes isnt fun to play but other times it can be a tense and action packed game and bastion allows you to fight in the town or flank the sides it usually ends up from my expeirence turining into 3 1v1's

IMO

Good map: A map where you can always flank around with your entire army, this means it has to be wide enough. (neuville)

Bad map: The opposite, so maps that are too narrow making flanking impossible. That will only lead to attacking straight in, something ok for WM, but horrible for US and PE. Coh is a game about flanking and defending against flanks, but most EIR maps dont provide this possibility. In those campy maps its either rush everything you have straight in and hope they kill something before they die, or camp and use support weapons to slowly get rid of the enemy defensive line which isnt the way US and PE are supposed to fight nor is it fun.

Therefor the worst map in my eyes is RedBallExpress, perfect for WM to put down some flaks and support weapons, and sit still, while US and PE that have to flank to win have no chance.

To fix those maps they need to be wider, most maps need to be wider, and some also a bit longer so its a bit less risky to attack from the side. Because of the spawnbuff and just the short supply/reinforce line its pretty much impossible to attack from the rear in EIR.

You will probably almost never see some1 attack the enemy with all his units from the rear. Flanking from the side is the best you can do, unless u have some paradrop or m10 rush etc, and ofcourse u have to use all your units. Even when you flank from the side you cant stay there for long, you have to hurry the hell back because the enemy's short supply lines will fuck u up if u wait too long and they will most likely overrun your position. So from this aspect longer maps would also be good imo, for example Tanteville, if you wander around a bit too far on their side of the map you will get fucked. Only on St Winn have I sometimes attacked with my army from the rear, which was pretty epic, can totally surprise the enemy and destroy them.

This is my view on maps in EIR, I dislike most of them (3v3maps), and to fix them the width and lenght should be increased on most of them in ordor to provide flanking movements which is what COH needs.

It's not just how wide maps are. There are other things that are important as well. The problem with Red Ball Express is not that it's not wide enough (it's friggin huge) the problem is that there are too much open areas.

Open areas favour WM support spam
Lots of obstacles like houses favour PE vehicle spam or armor builds

It depends as an avid RE player theres nothing i like less than being boxed in on a tight street having my tanks at the mercy of shrecks but Open areas like you say dont favour me either

While as a Commadno player tight urban warfare makes it easy to box in and suppres your opponents :mgs in houses or piats behind them while in open countryside your gonna get sniped and then teabagged

a good map has diffremt types of terrain in the center mainly urban built up are in center and flankable sides a good team will notice where there units excel and swap around to make them most usefull

Just meh two cents

People saying that Bastion and Red Ball Express are bad maps are pure crazy. Those maps are epic. Though Bastion is scary as shit... couldn't tell you why; it's just scary. And when it comes to urban maps... my SE PE company loves urban maps.

I wanna see Linden and Arnhem back in the game. Add them again. Like... right the hell now.

St. Come du Mont is crap. Hedgy clusterfuck.

Other than that... I can't think of any maps I straight up don't like. If I avoid it it's usually because I know it'll help the other teams company builds and fuck that shit.

I love St come du mont the urban battles can be thrilling but its ruined by the usual lag and the ease of which it an become a campy battle in the hedgerows

They have no alternatives, it favours some builds/factions too much.

Notice how I said "too much" meaning that builds will favor some maps, this will always happen, that's why maps have alternatives. For example if you play tanteville with a company that has a flak88 then you will perform very well on the left side of the map. That's why the urban area is there so the other team can focus on the other side of the map and still do well. If the urban area wasn't there then the 88 build would be too strong on that map, like how Red Ball Express works.

Static defenses are no problem if your team has access to artillery (which most allied teams have in abundance). That alone is usually enough to out attrition your opponents. I've seen many a doomfort crumble on red ball and never recover. Much to my dismay.
