I'm not good at micro (units) or macro (strategy), either. I make strategies that offset that lack.

For instance, I always buy smoke for my Shermans and waste a sniper scouting their territory deep behind enemy lines. Sure, the sniper dies and the smoke costs munitions, but it improves unit survival by quite a bit. And the sniper reveals weak points in their defense.

More importantly, that sniper can chart a Panther's movement.

"shrug". Anyways, to offset micro, guess you can make crazy strategies or something.

But I have a 50% loss ratio, so my strat really doesn't work that well after all.

Cozmo,

You need to stay, this game got me early on and i cracked it as well, i found though when i strated to look at from my strong suit, a good understanding of fire and movement tactics and applied what i had learned wargaming my skills have improved somwhat, i still forget where units are, have diffuculty with split focus fighting but im getting there, salan commented as much last night to me,  ive also watched countless replays of my opponents and learn't from them.

If you ever want a one on one to try things out, im more than happy to play,

Just stick with it

Cheers Nev

Bah dont listen to Nev, He is "Hoist upon his own Petard" Tongue

As for Micro managing your game, Try using your Battlegroups in a steadier fasion, For instance any arty i have is always Battlegroup 0 while my inf is always 1 - 4 my sniper/s are 8 and 9 or 8 for the spotter and 9 for the sniper, AT is always 7 and tanks on 5 and 6, i can switch these around a bit now and depending if i have a lot of armour on i might make tanks 3 - 6 and inf 1 - 2.

This way if you play a bit you can always know what button to press to call your troops, Other than that learn to watch you minimap more often and use the spacebar to take you to current warning events.

p.s Nev that Sig looks uber hawt

i do use command groups, my tanks are 0 and 9 ,snipers 9 or 8, main inf 1-4, AT inf about 3-5, basicly "speical units" arty, tanks ,snipers ,heavy weapons. are the upper end 6-0 and my main inf are lower 1-5.

i used command groups all the time.

Lol, I've never used command groups ... probably should.

Remember OF is coming out soon, maybe the Brits will be more your style.

COZMO ur a good player dont quit now. The reason u might be frustrated is that all the top allied players now have tier 4 whereas most axis dont. I find that you are a great player and in a 1v1 u could probly beat most players

Yeah but I used to look at the RN forums every day to try and find out good tactics. I watched ToH loads and played games a lot too.

GOD DAMMIT COZMO YOU'RE NOT LEAVING. If I have to I will play 1v1s to try and help you improve (though someone who is actually good like Lai would definitely be better).
