why does the launcher freeze when i try to launch it?

I just spent an hour and a half dling and updating and finally get to the launcher it freezes. I hyave not even played yet, very frustrating

The whole launcher just hangs (not responding) or does it crash, or do operations inside it hang (retrieving company, etc)?

What version of windows are you running, and what background applications?

Also, make sure you have up to date versions of the .NET framework *2.0* (HAS TO BE 2.0), C++ redistributable, and XNA framework.

im running xp sp3 x64, e7400@2.8ghz 2gbs ram 500gbs hard drive ati radeon hd 4800. i have avg running in background but have added eirr to acceptions, net framework 4.0, c++ redist is current same with xna framework. i click login and it says logging in and stays that way until i eventually close it longest i waited was an hour

That's odd. Try going to microsoft and getting the .NET 2.0 (specifically, apparently 4.0 isn't just "newer", it's totally different shit), and reinstalling that. Beyond that, EIRRMod is going to have to figure this out probably.

It wont let me roll back to net.framework 2.0 dammit. Wont install i get error messages and if i try to uninstall newer versions i get warnings about other programs not working which makes me a lil nervous, got a bunch of games and mods i dont want to screw up. Sux i really want to play eir it looks awesome, just not sure its worth the risk to do that. But thanx for your help anyway.

Dont 'roll back' to version 2.0.  Just install it.   All of the frameworks are SEPERATE - they co-exist fine (well... thats what M$ tries to say) - and if oyu have 4.0 that doesnt matter, you need 2.0.
