Yea there seems to be a bit of a delay on the orders compared to for example HoN and LoL. Though after about 40 games of DOTA I'm getting quite comfortable with it. Dota definitely takes some time adapting, even if you're used to HoN but like Brn said it is a beta.
Big tip for the last hitting, use the 'stop' command (default S I think). By bashing this you can have your hero stop the auto-attack animation and hit the perfect last hit just when you need it. (You can often tell people are doing this when they are seemingly spamming an attack animation) When you get used to using this method, you WILL get a lot more last hits out.
The shop UI I have no problems with, I love that you can buy items without being in a shop (with the stash system) and I think it's fairly easy to find what you need. Then again, I'm more accustomed with LoL than with HoN, so it was probably easier to impress me with that.

I reckon it'll be a lot more fun if we get a dota2 crew together.

I was looking for beta keys all day and then the same evening I go to the dota 2 steam page and it says that I already own dota 2, I was like wtf, so apparently steam had selected me for beta. DOTA 2 HALLELUJAH !!
I like the artistic and brutal graphic feel of HON (which is way better than the cartoony graphics of LOL) but a problem with HON was always that it was difficult to see what's going on in teambattles because you have all these colors and spells covering all of the screen making it impossible to see what's going on. Dota 2 is much better in this aspect, everything is very clear and visible.
