I had planned on releasing a balance patch this week, but with OF coming out Tuesday which will inevitably break EIR once we all download the huge patch that incorporates everything together, I've decided to push it back until I can get out a patch that will fix EIR with the OF -> vCOH patch.

Furthermore, we are going to have to re-look at balance quite a bit with some of the vCOH changes that are coming in OF.

Please be patient with us.  We are going to be extremely busy and things are probably going to get frustrating for the us and the players.

OF units will not be available in this patch (obviously), but we are working to get them into game as soon as possible.

Take your time Smiley

Is it bad that I am absolutely drooling over the new worldbuilder toys I get to play with?

Expect the final version of Tulip Fields sometime next Wednesday. Forecasters predict heavy rain with the possibility of Windmills Grin

makes sense.

i just wonder... how are we going to handle the initial balancing period once the OF stuff is in?  For vCOH we had the whole of 1.0 - 1.7/8 to work out the kinks in unit prices and abilities.  but now we have a war going an stuff.

i suppose we'll have to do another probationary testing period with high CPs and try to work out the OF doctrine kinks quickly so we can get to persistent warring again Smiley

This may be the most offensive thing I've read.  At least, today.

Yea, not really sure at this point how it will all work out.  We are playing OF a ridiculous amount (I've required the theory team to do so), so we should have a good idea of a good range for pricing on the units and upgrades.

Many of the pieces from 1.0 - 1.7/8 was not only balancing but a lot of making huge changes to the backend and gameplay piece as a whole (such as reporting results, spawning units, getting units into and out of battles, etc...)

is there no chance to atleast do the bunker health balance sooner rather then later, or the change in demo's and things like this that are exploitable...

it will definetly be an interesting hill to climb, im sure there will be a lot of support for the time needed to impliment.

gives us time to finish the 1 player Smiley

ya fldash its going to be crazy

one thing i (and i think a few others) were wondering is, considering OF was pushed forward by almost 6 weeks, are you going to restart the war with when OF unit's get added?

We'll probably just keep on trucking, maybe reset and give everyone lots of CPs.  Not really sure yet...

War map is coming along nicely, but you didn't hear that from me.

salan: OF has updated lots of things that I can incorporate to fix the demolition charge and allow ST's to cap territory when uncloaked, etc...

Cool, thanks for the update, FL.  Keep us posted on what we can do to help.

this is still an alpha, so the war is secondary to everything else.

FL good luck, i'm sure that the time we will have to wait will be well worth it in the end.  Like salan said... we all have the 1 player to work through and then we can always throw down in massive 4v4 vCOHOF  until you get it up and running again.
