How does the sector cap works

As i see it if u don't cap the sector 1 by 1 from ur spawn u cannot cap the sector which is not connected to ur capped sector coz i played with punkmaster and i ded manage to cap a big majority of the sectors but he had a difficulty with capping.

well he brought his 88 and inf and build the 88 at the middle of the map but he didnot c ap the sectors behind him so where he had the 88 built at the middle which is also not capped insted of inf in the sector  : and i thinbk he had inf in the truck so that he could get to the middle faster

Chances are he capped it and the sectors behind it, started building 88, then you capped the sectors, but since the 88 was already being built it is still placed.
