Hey Guys, yesterday i watched the presentation of Europe in Ruins on the KrebsCOHO channel on Youtube to try out a new game. In further times i have played COH and so i tried my luck with the US armour company. The Armour doctrin have one engineer called assualt engineer which comes with shotguns on the battlefield. The guys looks tough/cool but in several infantry engagements they got only there asses kicked, so it seems that there quite useless. There come with four man per squad, and does 1+4 damage vs. infantry, they can build tanktraps/sandsacks or lay down some wire. But they can't put down a mine or a democharge or can't be equipped with flamethrowers. My questions are: - Are these guys useful? - Where can i find the weapon statistic table of the shotguns? Sorry for my bad english.

you can look the weaponstats up in the RGDs with the help of the Corsix tool
their shotguns are quite strong but have a very low range. if you somehow manage to get them close to enemy infantry they are deadly

What does "RGDs" mean? Edit: At the start of the corsix tool there is an C++ runtime error because a dll file can't be located. It a crazy errormessage because i have installed a lot of Mircosoft Visaul C++ Packages.

just google for the .dll that is missing, download it and put it in the corsix folder. the RGDs are basically files that contain all unit stats
we have a couple of corsix tutorials on this forum too, just use the search funtion. there are also tutorials on youtube

+1 they are good to kill units (mg, or inf in buildings) just use them with smoke vs mgs to get close or in a halftrack but i dont find them that good as a standard combat unit its more for special stuff

Didn't know it that i had to copy the dll files by Windows 7 operation in a seperate /SYSWOW64 folder. Now it works. Damage: 25 Range: [Short/Mid/Long] 6/13/20 Accuracy: [Short/Mid/Long] 1/0.55/0.1 Reload: 3 Reload Multiplier: [Short/Mid/Long]: 1/1/1 Cooldown: 2.5 Cooldown Multiplier: [Short/Mid/Long] 0.35/0.5/1.5 Moving Accuracy: 1 Fire Aim Time: 0.3 Aim Multiplier: 0.25/0.25/2 Ready Aim Time: 0.25 Post Firing Aimtime: 0.25 Reload Frequency: 6 Suppression: [Short/Mid/Long] 0.0001/0.001/0.001 Strong short range weapon which does a lot of damage. Don't forget to move the guys because you lose no accuracy while movin. At short range this weapon has an accuracy of 100% so every bullet hits the target. At midrange the accuracy get a maul of 0.45 that only every second bullet may hit the enemie, also the cooldown multiplier increases from 0.35 to 0.5. At long range this wapeon total sucks, because the accuracy a tenth part at shortrange (0.1) and the cooldown multiplier raises about 1.5 and the aim multiplifier is multiplied by 8. Wonderful short range weapon.

Try packing them up in a halftrack and dropping them off close to units you know you'll win against. (usually unupgraded squads, or drop off behind support weapons)

hi Ahnungsloser, nice you got corsix to work. to calculate the exact weapon DPS of the shotgun & compare it to other weapons try this topic: http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=19104.0assault engineers also have elite armor, the same as rangers have. but less HP per man than rangers.

Nice to see a actually smart member comming into the community. Seems you were smart enough to know how to use the search function and google unlike 90% of the community . Good job. And on Assault Engies, they arn't survivable in general but they are alot more survivable than your normal 3 man engies /w a flamethrower. So whats usually most effective is putting them a halftrack like Groundfire said and hitting support weapons.

Might I ask why the Trenchguns are so bad at only 20m (max range)? Its the same range as engie greasers or pio mp40s, which is miniscule already.

Because its a shotgun. In vanilla COH the ranges for the greaseguns for the engineers was 5/10/20.

yup. bc they are soft as hell have its not a good idea to run them around. they will get picked off before getting a shot in. I rarely had them kill a healthy soldier in 2-4 secs. I usually notice they tend to drain the enemies health down evenly, but when that happens then unit drop like flies.

they are the biggest glass cannons in the game. they shoot through smoke pretty effectively. in groups of 2 they will wipe out KCH in a second. they are situational units. i always keep them in cover.

What I like to do is have a riflemen squad as meatshield and send those in first and the engies behind them. Once they are close they are gonna rape some serious ass

I like the tip with the M3 halftrack. In one game there were several infantrie blobs an i give these dudes the last chance for my battles. So i called two assualt engineer squads in a halftrack and drive them right on the battlefield. At a flanking position there was a Ritterkreuzträger squad and so i take a short stop. - Wow this was awesome, the KCH got shredded apart and my guys take no serious damage. In a other situation i cleaned a motar, a ATG and two damaged infantry squads. The next time i try to include a riflesquad with bars for suppression fire and a motar (for smoke barages) and take a nasty ride through the battlefiled to engage enemie positions.A additional sherman croc would be awesome! Now i like these gentlemans.

Totally! Normal i'm inured to got pwnd by the KCH because they atomise my riflesquads, also the KCH waste no time and crushes instantly straight into my rifles. But when they engage the assualt engineers they turned around reflect what would happen to them, and run away to find some cover.

Well tbh, the Halftrack with engies is a good strat but for someone whos gonna see it coming, basically HT's running rampant through your lines, they will just back off and shoot the engies from farther away...they die pretty easy.
Just be careful of that.
