I do that all the time. Besides, halo 3 is a generic FPS. The only reason halo has had so much success is that it hit the majority of stupid console gamers at the perfect time. "ZOMG what's this~!?!?!" Oh no! A first person shooter, and a generic one at that. This is the best game ever man! Never mind that everything that has been done here was done YEARS before its release, and done BETTER at that! THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME.
Yeah, I'll stick to games that don't actually suck?
For example: Tonight i was playing with AMPM, Shoe, and Faltnor. Faltnor and Shoe were Brits and Americans respectively, and let me say that the royal commando doctrine is really really annoying when you're tired. Not to mention a stalemate on lyon is absolutely one of the most boring and generic experiences EVER.
Besides guys, CoH was created not only in the same light as WH40k: DoW but the way the game is set up is almost 85% similar to it. CoH is really DoW with a better engine and WWII based models, sounds, and anims.

Halo was an awesome game. Don't even hate on it. There was NO other console FPS that we could have had cross campus dorm tournaments during my undergrad days. Granted, the 2nd was less impressive, and I have not played the 3rd, but the first was truly polished and fun!

I agree with Draygon there, FPS' truly do suck on consoles. (Same for RTS' and the like) Aside from the Wii, where FPS & RTS' can be quite fun although usually lack the amazing GFX. (But if you can live with "okay" GFX then you'll have a blast  ) |

Some shooters are ok on consoles, but strategy games are always rubbish. But I agree, Halo insn't that great.

Acker, no offense but do you even read what you write before you press the post button? CoH > Halo 3 Halo 3 is average, I've played it and beaten it and the multi-player is dull at best. First Person Shooters will always have their home on the PC. CoH is Epic, nuff said. |

never played any halo games, and the SP on 3 is about 7 levels and took some of the people in my year about 14 hours to complete on legendary.

Halo 3>COH.
Campaign: better than COH.
Multiplayer: better than COH. I have no clue what you've been smoking. MOH: Airborne, perhaps?
Graphics: ditto.
AI: Depends. On easy and normal, it isn't that great. But on Heroic and Legendary...
Community: more people than COH.
Tech Support: it doesn't need tech support. Compared to COH...
I fail to see why COH is better than Halo 3. Journalists didn't predict a market slump due to OF sales. COH didn't set any records in units sold/money made.

comparing an FPS to an RTS is like comparing a ferari f1 car to a ford mondeo, they may be the same thing (game and car) but they are completely different, they have almost nothing in common.

Starcraft vs. COH would be better, even if Starcraft is 10 years old or so. It's still a different type of RTS and holds an entirely different theme. Aside from community support, online stability and balance there's not a lot of objective conclusions to draw regarding which game is superior. |
