anyone out there who would be willing to give me a  map making tutorial or make a map from a plan?

I have a map plan made from the street layout of my home town which I'd like to make into a map, but as yet i am unfamiliar with how to use the editor well.

Your post is unclear on what you are asking for... It appears you are asking for tutorials which there are plenty of; in the stickied thread at the top about how to use the editor.  The tutorials helped me out heaps in the beginning.  (get used to splines/splats)

Yes, see the sticky in this thread.  Particularly, go to the link to the relic wiki.  It explains all the tools in the editor.
