I bought it a few days ago and got the beta on steam. Only Tec for now, but it's really bloody good.
A single 1v1v1 with unfair AIs took me 5h17 and a 3v3 4h32.
I never enjoyed so much a long game  Tongue
Anyone else interested?

Have they dropped Stardock as publisher yet?

I've kinda got a grudge against them for trashing all my product keys with them because their accounting department fucked up

I've burnt out on sins since way back, It's going to take more than just a few changes to bring me back...
This doesnt look that huge tbh, mostly that each faction is split into subfactions?

I loved playing sins multiplayer back in the old day. Is this just another expansion? Was kind of hoping for a sequel.

I do remember them saying that they are making a sequel some where. By the way for anyone who loved X3 series they are making a new one of that which is supposed to come out this year.

Hard to say, I would put it as a sequel since they also did an engine overhaul. It looks better, the interface is the same, and they doubled the factions. It's also a complete stand alone product. If you own the previous Trinity or Diplomacy releases it's $10 off.

Hence late beta stage  Roll Eyes
Doesnt crash that much for me anymore, but there is still a 2 second or so load time when going in and out of research and other menues... And appearently that's very fast compared to the average.

Those load times, so to say, breaks the flow of an already slow game  Undecided

Bah, for me it's quite stable. I never crashed in-game, and I've got no problems with the menus.

The only thing that I want is to play advent and Vasari. Sad

And for now, it's been worth the 40$.

For those who are participating in the Rebellion Beta, how unique are the splinter factions? Do they have only slightly different playstyles or are they fairly different in terms of overall strategy? Additionally, how are the nerw units?

If you want new planet types, Maelstrom mod has your back on that one... proboably more than this expansion does, it's not perfect but if you want new types of planets and stars

http://www.moddb.com/mods/maelstrom
Did I mention they made 3 new races that might or might not be based on certain other known ones?  Wink

Just be careful when bumping it up... the game engine is sorta, well, bad at handling to much stuff at once  Roll Eyes
