What does it mean to be a part of the balance team?

Let's say: If I'm a member of the balance team, what would my work would like?  
Am i allowed to bring my own idea and discuss it with the whole team, trying to figure out if the change is necessity, how it's implementable and which impact it had on the gameplay?

Am I allowed to create polls to introduce some changes (in representations of the whole team) to compare our ideas with the playerbase and
check the response to it?...

Maybe you can tell us, what the balance team except from a possible rookie. What's necessary, what's a "Nice-to-Have" or at least what is
a absolute "No-Go"?

This board is designed to gather player feedback on Europe in Ruins. This group is best understood as an embedded QA group focused on gameplay analysis. An embedded QA works directly with the development team and runs a number of end user tests in an attempt to provide feedback on balance, gameplay, and mechanics.

That said, each member will have an opportunity to express their own analysis of the issue at hand. My task as lead will be to summarize your thoughts and present them to the senior/software development team. Therefore, we will no longer be voting on issues.

Your focus is to provide feedback not argue the merits of another persons analysis. Everyone will have different thoughts on how things should be or are; trying to convince someone your analysis is better is fairly ignorant. Please try and keep this in mind when addressing an issue.

That is not to say discussing an issue amongst other members is wrong, just keep the above in mind. Asking questions or trying to present other perspectives is great; however, sometimes people actually try to change the minds of others and get angry when this doesn't happen.

As a final note, its important that everyone is open and honest with one another. More so, it is important to be able to take constructive criticism and learn from it. Individuals who are unable to follow the guidelines above will be removed from the balance team at my discretion.

If the posts are full of QQ, Trolls, insults, off topic remarks and general retarded remarks - YES.

I will be moderating these threads much more strictly now, so hopefully that will help clear up some of the mess. The other thing to keep in mind. Just because you post a suggestion or problem does not automatically mean it will be implemented.

So that means we are not ignoring you - the BT, and SDT just do not agree with you, so nothing is changed. We realize that you may feel very strongly that your opinion is the most important opinion, but you need to be a little more humble and realize that is just an opinion.

Also, just cuz 10 people may post that they totally agree with you, does not = everyone agrees......

What I meant from afar from past experience was the EIRR Balance Team has always been just ignored. Which is my true concern, will they be ignored in the future as well?

We often take issues brought up in the general forums and discuss them internally. So no, the general balance threads do not get ignored. If anything, they are a great way to bring to our attention balance concerns. I strongly encourage people to participate within these forums. If you demonstrate you have the capacity to be a balance team member then we will send you an invite.

This means you aren't a troll, you bring intelligent discuss to the forum, and you have something meaningful to contribute to the mod.

i think in the past, the balance team has always been anonymous. skaffa putting himself out there was a first and pq followed. it would be great to see if the balance team is able to vocal about who and what they are rather than just board members.
