I just unlocked Field modification the other day and it doesn't seem to be working on the panther. I say this because the p4 did a great job at suppressing but when I went to use my panther in a similar situation it did not suppress at all. I think this might need to be looked at.

i think it works but the gun is farther away.

think of it like tihs
tank = []
gun = ~

stug = [~  ]
p4 = [ ~ ]
panther = [  ~  ]

so its a bit longer, so the gun is farther away, thus suppression will be a bit slower.

or it could just not be working :shrug:

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I'm fairly sure that it doesn't work like that.

i'm fairly sure it does. it's why the .50 cal on the us halftrack fairs better than the .50 cal on a sherman.

Well there is a dps difference based on range, if the panther mg is actually opening fire at the same range you are using the main gun it could be using its long range accuracy while a stug with its shorter range will more often be in its medium range with it's mg, and it's a well observed fact that the stug suppression turns deadly at short range. That said, I think all the axis tank mgs have 35 range and what you are experiencing is fact that your panther is keeping distance thus reducing the efficiency of its mg, buffed or not.

Because the .50 cal on halftrack is a better one. It has higher accuracy than the Sherman 50 cal. It is not because it is 'closer' to the target.

They are 2 different weapons.

meh, i forgot it's a different weapon.

still, sherm and m8 use same gun, why is the .50 cal for m8 more effective?

Because the M8 has the speed to get into close range the fastest.

Exactly, it sticks in close range and ratatatatas the guys to death. It has nothing to do with how close the gun is.

Well if you look at it this way it does....
Close range = Closer, but not the close Tym was looking for.

Yeah calbanes, I mean - some people like smokaz are still yet to win a single game, even though they've been around here for years.

The close range of the stug MG42 is 10, and you want to say that the location in the middle of the panther, the to the top and the
distance between the Panther and target makes it >10 so that is not close range anymore?

(Overall it makes really good sense. But I can't say what "10 Range" in the game feels like and what "10 Range" compared to the Panther is)
