The Italians may not have had great training or numbers but they had some really feared troops. Just a lot of its played down by Patton's own propaganda.

That and having a not at all respected leader doesn't help...

Yea, in general the Italian military is a casualty of wartime propaganda.

They had pretty decent troops, and some really elite troops. But their weapons were not up to the task by 1942-43.

Overall, poor leadership and propaganda is the reason we have poor opinions of Italians.

Italians where the first to have modern fighters and had good battleships at the time. They also had the worlds 4th largest navy. Most of their shortcomings came from their horrible command structure and a lot of outdated equipment/lack of resources to pump out the good stuff. Here's a quote "The Royal Italian Air Force – The Regia Aeronautica — was considered one of the most advanced in the world. The Royal Italian Air Force (hereafter RIAF) won a stunning 96 international aviation awards during this period. Italy airplanes were renowned worldwide. Great ideas for sure, but I think the reality is it wont happen.

Plan will most likely be to balance what EIR has now first. How long that is going to take no1 knows. It will be a while before the current doctrines are finished and balanced. Process is slow and having devs who seem to prefer to play dota2 a lot instead of actually developing eir does not help either. I doubt it will ever happen, but I think it would be awsm. However, Italians is not something I would be excited about, who cares about them, bad idea. Not to mention people suggesting armies with lots of cheap but weak units like volks, you shouldnt try to encourage spam like that. You can alrdy do that sufficient enough with current factions, designing an entire faction around this idea is not good for EIR and its interesting to see a dev suggesting this...

Just saying how it is, as I usually do.
Eir is great mod, enjoyed it a lot. I quit the team because I didnt have time anymore for it. I didnt want to stay on or drag it out with inactivity periods just to be proud of my badge and having acces to private forums. My opinion is that if you dont have time for being on the staff, or dont want to spend your time on it you should leave and let other people take over so the mod can move forward.
And if people cant realise this themselves, management or modlead should make the decision for them.
