About to finish act 2, and I'd give it at least an 8/10. The missing points are due to bNet, not gameplay. I'll echo that online singleplayer is bogus as fuck, but the game is pretty solid. Turn on the "i'm not a retard, i promise" mode in the settings and you can put *any* skill in *any* slot. That means you can put all 4 of a wizards primary attacks on your bar, if you wanted. It also lets you remap r/l mouse to whatever.

If you like the diablo style game (which it is, *GASP*) then get it. If you dont like click'n'slash, play a friends' before you decide.

waiting for a crack  Tongue

nothing to wait for... diablo shines in MP, playing diablo for SP and story is like watching porn for story.

Also for those who don't know because it was not in the beta - yes sockets and gems are in.

Again, I loved diablo 2...
But the fact that people are willing to beg down and suck blizzard dick on the DRM front puts me off, yeah sure, it's fine cause it's blizzard :/

I will go back to playing Titan Quest and Diablo 2, both much more worthy of my time.

Im not, especially when I try to run from a labtop with a botchy connection.

Hell my connection was out roughly 50 minutes ago on my desktop. Why should that effect me mid-game playing diablo on singleplayer?

Not everyone has a connection that works all the time you know.

Really, having a stable and decent internet connection is simply a must-have in the modern era. If your PC did not have the proper GPU to run a game, would you buy it anyways? You knew that you would be required to have a connection to Blizzard's servers at all time, and you evidently also knew your connection was spotty, so why did you bother buying it?

I honestly can't play it simply because my net at my dorm isn't all too stable.

Why should it be?

If your PC did not have the proper GPU to run a game, would you buy it anyways?

Sorry, but Diablo 3's graphics are hideously poorly coded as they aren't that great, but use a fuckton of requirements.

You knew that you would be required to have a connection to Blizzard's servers at all time, and you evidently also knew your connection was spotty, so why did you bother buying it?

Well, considering Blizzards servers are unable to handle the traffic, the single player complainers have a valid point. If you could actually connect to Blizzard without getting ERROR 37 no one would care.

I don't understand people who try to criticize others English, but fail to provide even a attempt at proper sentence structure and capitalization.

But yes, you are correct, I did in fact spell it wrong.

And other singleplayer games do not have that internet connection requirement. Thats the whole issue around the matter. And no I didn't buy Diablo 3 yet, and my desktop connection is quite stable. Just that if I leave I will have serious trouble playing it, which although it isn't too big of a issue, but its still a slap in the face that could easily have been avoided had blizzard not implemented it.

I wasn't necessarily referring to Diablo in particular, Spartan, more a catch-all metaphor for system requirements. And a stable internet connection should be a must-have, because the trend is moving towards online digitally-distributed games as opposed to retail. Thus, one would expect to have a decent internet connection to download and play these games, just as one would expect to have a decent processor to run them.

The thing is, if my connection hitches my download isn't aborted. I can continue right after the hitch is over.

I got a decent internet connection but I still have 2 reasons why this kind of drm is annoying.

1 .From time to time, my ISP initiates maintenance on their servers or something that brings down the net for a few hours.

2. Some people actually do play games from time to time on systems that do not have a connection. When on camping trips I for one tend to bring a laptop with a few games installed on it.

These two are personal reason for why a drm that requires a constant internet connection is a nuisance. There might be hundreds of different reasons why someone else might have a problem with this too.

Saying that there are no problems with this kind of drm is just plain stupid.
