That, and PE without PP's is about as fun as... Well, PE without PP's

you are all dumb-dumms. this is the genious season of smart play and units being exactly what they are that makes early war interesting. this thread was posted way too early, and you should be ashamed of yourself

Should just balance doctrines...then screwed up balance wouldn't dominate the mid and late game.

I figure I will play when/if it hits rank 9. Just don't care enough to grind games without having fun units.

warmap cards are going in when possible, but this is stilll a big deal. if you play 3 games now you might encounter a defend/attack which is a big deal

Woo!! So the game will be different for the first...4 minutes...meh.

Balance would make the game so much more worthwhile to play. Or actual new game modes that don't revolve around just wiping out the enemy or capping all the territory.

Warmap is cool, but why play if you get nothing out of it. When it balanced, and doctrines are fixed, it might be enjoyable again. Otherwise, it's wait for level 9 and then troll people with retard coys.

It looks nice, and I'm sure once the mid and endgame is balanced, and the new game modes and cards come in, it will be awesome.

Until then, it's a map. And the same EIRR we've had over the top of it.

Shutup tym.

Hey Ampm, I understand what you are saying. I guess the veterans of the community are divided then. I personally play for warmap progression, you play for doctrines. come play later when doctrines are in. doctrines to me are pointless and warmap progression is fun.

If allied dogs would give me a game. Even new people dodge me, they dont even know me! LOL

Yea, I just don't care about warmap progression at all. I have other games to play for the progression of an individual team/unit/character. I play EIRR mainly to just play with long time EIRR buddies. So no rose colored glasses here anymore.

Warmap would be more interesting with cards and some actual individual company progression. As it is, it's like working at a company where everyone gets paid the same and nobody can be fired. Why do anything.

ITS 2 DAYS OLD FFS!

I never said the Warmap itself was bad.

I just don't like A: Communist Company Progression or B: Lack of new gameplay.

(A) just removes all the fun of trying to get games and advance. No matter what you do, same level as everyone else. Dull. TBH, I would prefer if the amount of unlocks were expanded, and you got all your doctrine abilities off the bat. Then you just played for better and more prestigious units/upgrades.

(B) not a problem with a warmap, it's a problem with playing EIRR for the last 7 years. The last 3 years the game has played roughly the same every game. EVERY game. Gimmicks are all that made it interesting (some require balancing and such, which would fix the doctrines too)

None of this is saying anything bad about EIRRMod, he's worked really hard. It's just nothing has changed. For people just coming in I'm sure it's awesome. For people that have been around a long time, well, it gets dull. I'm eagerly awaiting balanced and interesting doctrines as well as new game modes.

I'm sorta with AmPm on some points there.  I really appreciate all the hard work that's gone into the Warmap and am NOT selling EIRRMOD short of his contribution and work.

However, what I do have a problem with is the relatively super slow PP progression as well as it making many games either boring or just plain frustrating.  My defensive company is unplayable without 88s and Medic bunkers, as otherwise it's exactly the same as a Blitz company which is exactly the same as the Terror company.

Currently, I'm playing allies because I can get all my 'core' tools like Triage and Rangers early (50 painful PPs, hate the PP increase in cost).  I'd care more about the warmap AFTER I get a company/doctrine I can play with.  Currently the metagame is favoring companies that get early access to special units in the T1 slots than anything else.  I CANNOT imagine grinding wins to get the 300+ PP I need to get all my doctrine unlocks and T4/T2 or whatever I want.  Right now it's about 'Which doctrine can I get my special infantry/vehicle with'.

That needs to change.  And I would like some more cool stuff tied into the warmap which gives TANGIBLE benefits in game.  For example, controlling the airfield gives a free air recon or two to all battles around it.  Controlling a factory earns you 1 Reward point for every battle near it (with saying a Jackson US Reward unit being 10 reward points), or controlling a 'field HQ' gives special access to purchase marines (which are forever in your company until they die, which you can repurchase IF you hold the HQ still in the war).

I want to see real unique benefits instead of something passive which I don't really see or care about.. like 2% more Victory points for a sector.. whoopie.  You know what I mean?

I'd be inclined to agree that you *should* be getting pps for every game (alas with a daily limit, like the old old eir? so no one has lvl 9 in 1 day) and those who do not have time to play would still get pps from faction pp.

I wouldn't even mind a higher pp cost for doctrines if you would be getting pps for every game.
