As it stands, Storm tactics is a T4 doctrine choice for scorched earth which give PGs and TB's leader rifles and buffs g43s in close range and increase the acc for Panzer Pioneers and Assault Grens.

But I believe that Storm tactics have to opportunity to be something more unique and interesting. Lets be honest it is not as alluring as the other choices in that doctrine (Chemical fire, duel T3s, and Blow the Bridges for the mine spammer).

So my idea for Storm tactics is that you would get the leader rifles and the g43 buff, and if you upgrade PGs with sergeant they should get fireup instead of sprint and that the PGs would be able to perches something like a panzerfuast. To compensate for the additions, remove the accuracy buffs to Assault Grens and Panzer Pioneers

First it fits the name much better, but this would make this doctrine choice much more attractive. It would now truly allow storming your enemies. If you upgrade a PG unit with sergeant you are paying 255 manpower for it and then you would have the fireup ability. Airborne cost 280 and they get fireup, but they are elite infantry, and rightly cost somewhat more than PGs.

Why the panzerfuast you say? Because anti-tank grenade are only really good for defending against tanks trying to crush you, and thus useless in a charge.

Lastly boosting the sergeant ties in th the T1 in that tree which also buffs sergeant.

Fire up also comes with a fatigue. So sprint is better in that aspect. Some people would just like to move around faster than having a supression immunity that slows them down at the end.

Storm tactics never took off for some reason, if you wanted AI power the mid t4 flamethrowers just seemed deadlier. I thought the top t4 dps increase was very significant? But on the other hand I cant remember having much success with it..

Having 2 TBs supported by a MG42/IST makes it a deadly combo, the Leaderrifles arent a massive boost to it but still makes them quite more deadly compared to vanilla ones.
Otherwise the T4 is not that usefull unless you want to run an AT heavy company and want to buff your AI.

I suppose that's where teamwork comes into play.

The TBs attack the tank?
The zrekcs might not be the best of AT due to the shitty acc at long range they can still deal quite the damadge, otherwise if you are scared of a sherman sniping you you can always bring a long ranged AT of your own Choosing.

My main goal for this thread wasn't necessarily that everyone would agree with me but that we could come up with some ideas for this doctorine choise to be more viable when compared with the other T4s in SE

So dont give them fireup but instead of that maybe a suppresion resistanse?

I dunno I always thought storm tactics would work very well if someone wanted to run a pg spam type company similar to rifle spam for amis...it always seemed like the carbines doctrine choice for PE...

darsin my sweetheart,

i agree with you that the current stormtatics should be changed. but i also have to admit that i dont like the idea of "fire up" for the axis.

maybe we can come closer to a solution, if we start differently.
what should stormtactics be?

should it encourage a massive infanterie assault?
well one solution would be to give fire up or any reduction to suppression.
another would be to increase the firepower. This would lead to a massive infantry assault, basical just charge into the enemy line. Since the t4 is called stormtactics and not overrun, i dont like this idea
OR
different infantry types give certain buffs to the bloob.
For example: sturmgrens give accuracy, PG give more hp, TB give slightly more speed, Panzerpioniere give more sight.

should ít encourage a small tactital charges?
this could look like giving buffs for close combat on normal weapons. or an accucracy reduction on troops that stand close range. another idea would be to give the G43 a new ability which reduces the sight of the aimed infantry, so that the PG can charge.

should it improve the combination of infantry and vehicles?
vehicles give buffs to infantry, and infantry to the vehicles (this would be close to the idea above)
