anyhow: for you Julian Assange, how would it be any difference if they manage to let you rot in prison for false constructed case of rape

OR

let you rot in USA for whatever world domination demands?

Wasn't the problem that he paid them for sex without condom but prostitution without condom is illegal in Sweden?

To be honest it wouldn't be the first time that women have used such "grey area" circumstances to attempt to get some sort of settlement by blowing the rape whistle, but the idea that these charges are fronts to get him extradited to the US is absurd.

Read previous post before you reply. He can't be extradited to the US because it goes against Swedish and International law. Politicians can't guarantee anything as they don't have the power to do so.

That is very true, but if anything the Iraq invasion showed how much of a fuck the US gives about international law, and how much the other countries and the UN are willing to enforce it. I don't doubt that they'd get their hands on him if they could, and they probably would try to extradite him from Sweden if they could, but I don't think the Americans could endure another international scandal these days.

Additionally, don't think that Sweden would try to protect him or anything. I'm pretty sure that if America came knocking asking for Assange, Sweden would likely gladly give him up. As far as I know, they've never said he wouldn't be extradited if requested.

The whole situation itself is stupid though. The aging American plutocracy has to realize that black ops are nearly impossible to perform with perfect secrecy in the information age. Sooner or later someone will dig them up, and it's at that point that the government needs to own up to it instead of calling a witch hunt on a person who is essentially their scapegoat.

http://www.aklagare.se/Media/Nyheter/Hovratten-faststaller-haktningsbeslut/

"misstänkt för våldtäkt, sexuellt ofredande i två fall och olaga tvång."

Which roughly translates to 1 count of rape, 2 counts of sexual molestation and 1 count of illegal coercion. This is what he is suspected of, formal charges can't be laid until he is extradited.

If the prosecutor thinks that there is a case then he is bound by law to prosecute it. Whether or not the women are lying is what the court is for. This is the law and there can't be any special exceptions for him.

The real deep confusion here is that this entire thread is based off of comments made by DEMON767.

Im sure the Russians are laughing at that one, and probably the Chinese too.

Are you seriously suggesting that CIA bribed those two girls?

Anyway one the beauties of Wikileaks is that popular opinion of Julian Assange matters fuck all. The entire US population can hate his guts and it wouldn't matter one bit. I think Wikileaks is one of the most important sites/organisation in the entire world but the way Julian hides behind it is just disgusting. Personally I haven't got a clue if he is guilty or not, but guess what? It's not up to me or you to decide, it's up to the court. Even if he isn't guilty his behaviour is unacceptable.

Then again, remember TPB? They were certainly in the grey area of swedish law, but the site itself didnt break it... Remember how that went? Also, remember how supreme court (they exist for the most difficult cases) refused to take it? Also remember how the fines and jail time was ridiculously high compared to REAL crimes?

Then ask yourself, why is it hard to have faith that everything will go fairly?

I personally think, it is mix of things.
I dont remember women generally observing starwars movies or political ongoings in the world, but I sure as hell know they can smell if the guy is important, rich etc. So dunno where he met them (adhoc?), but I think there is higher probability of some false accusation scam / lovedrama which turned after police/influentials learned who is it concerning - to good oldfashioned - we show you who is boss here now. He is famous and everybody would like him falling. Its human psychology. 70 percent

No CIA needed, only you keep suggesting it here. But in the process sure various 3rd parties didnt forget to help shift things, wordings, maybe even memories of ladies... 25 percent

I give 5 percent chance to probability that: yes he may be trying to do the altruistic wikileaks type of work, but to balance things out - he turns to casual rapist every fourth year in the fullmoon

BTW, how was it going with swedish justice in piratebay case, you sure know the drill, bias, usa influence and things, its like ages ago, but somehow I think I would rather not turned myself on SWE soil either.

My eyes are litteraly suffering Liquideath having to read his typing. I understand not everyone is ENglish as a first language but GAH!

Personally I don't care what happens to him, as long as it's bad. As the face of Wikileaks he has killed more people then I care to think about.

All the documents that they leaked... some were harmless, or relatively harmless and only peoples pride or image got tarnished.

In other cases the names or code names and descriptions or the intelligence gathered by pro western people was published to the Internet. Terrorists and other 'western enemies' have the internet too and when you start leaving people out to dry like that they get killed and no one wants to trust you again. Which makes the future even harder.

Published classified documents are usually redacted for a reason

You have to consider the fact that Bradley Manning, IT-rookie in the Army got his hands on all those classified documents on what was essentially his first day on the job. That's a pretty big security flaw. Wikileaks was just the messenger.

Bradley will never see the light of day, except maybe when he gets his Court Martial. He will probably avoid the death sentence though, and get life in prison....military prison...breaking rocks.

Yeah i don't think they will let him get out of this. I mean if they are too mild with him, then that's basically saying "yeah go ahead and leak super secret military documents that could decide over life and death of a nation, we won't hurt you".

But i admire him for doing something as big as that.

If you think it's all black or white then you are mistaken.

On one hand Bradley betrayed his country and leaked secret documents.

On the other hand American colonists betrayed their country in 1776 and now 4th of July is their "national day". Furthermore it does take courage to do what Bradley did, fully knowing he might be executed for it.

I'm not saying what he did was right, I'm saying that there's more than one side to the story.

My issue is not the embarrassing stuff, it's the putting other peoples lives at risk, not just operatives, but anyone serving anywhere. It's fucked up.

It's a shame he took such a huge risk with his sex life. Pretenders to the throne of political championship are more or less required to lead well advised, boring and straight forward lives or political adversaries will use any step outside the square as ammunition, and today's media is so extremely proficient at turning a feather into a whole hen house without much effort or critique.

Has there ever even been a case where a leak like this has gotten a serviceman assassinated by an insurgent? To be honest, I don't think they even care who they kill - they're just trying to kill as many of you guys as they can. The leak of a secret document probably wouldn't change anything to the Taliban or Al Quaeda. It's not like it was a secret to them, they were the targets.
