There is a mod that allows you to view your friends games while playing your own, it also shows them on the map. This would be perfect for the Mun race.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I managed to get a command module and lander in orbit around mun. I then managed to land with the lander, walk around and launch it into space again. But it didn't have *quite* enough fuel left to orbit and my poor kerbonauts died in a horrible crash instead of docking with the command module   Goodnight sweet prince |

I don't use any mods. As far as I am aware, the only planet you cannot land on and return without Mods is Eve, because of its super thick atmosphere. Of course landing on Jool and returning is also impossible, but it is a gas giant....so it doesn't really count. |

Awww yeah, I did it  The Kebab VI rocket preparing to launch. The cost in duct tape alone was staggering!  After discarding the first three stages I'm inbound to the Mun. On the trip there I use EVA to get two Kerbonauts into the lander can.  The lander is then put on top of the command module.  In Mun orbit the lander is disengaged.  Descending onto the Mun  The Kebab has landed!  Moonwalking  Back to the lander and off we go  Approaching to dock with the command module. http://imageshack.us/a/img838/9988/preparetobeboarded.jpgThe lander is emptied of fuel and then discarded. I could have kept it on and still make it into Kerbal, thus preventing spacejunk. But at this stage I didn't want to risk anything, no matter how remotely small that risk is. The husk of the lander is now orbiting the Mun.  Back to Kerbal  Aerobraking  Chutes deployed  VICTORY!  Videos to follow |

How did you have a clamp with an engine inside it in these images. In the first, I cant see the engine, then you must have disengaged (I assume), and moved the command module to the end (to push it), but I havent had success in building rockets / clamps for stages like this. Can you write a verbose instruction guidey thing for me? I could probably figure it out, but Im busy making re-usable space planes for cargo transport / mega orbit ship Im constructing. |

God DAMN space planes are hard (Well, ones with a cargo bay AND can land again...)
I managed:
An orbital small space plane that can take satellites and small orbital base parts into space... but attaches to the outside.
A cargo ship with internal storage that can get Into lower orbit, but loses the fucking PLOT when in the stratosphere.
