Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

6 hours in, 40% done (decent lenght game for a single player run of this kind) and well... worth every penny so far.

The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

Also play it on hard.

Medium = Aim Carefully, conserve items and be a bit careful with yer stuff, but you'll be fine
Hard     = DONT waste ammo shooting when you don't have to, be reaaaally effing careful with your items (and so on)

In terms if item scarcity, on hard it's way more limited and tense than any survival horror game released as of late.

To put it in perspective, around 6 hours in I currently have about 3 9mm and 4 revolver rounds, a single medkit, 5 shotgun shells and maybe 3 rifle rounds... This is the most I've had by far in the game (aside from a certain point in the game) and I have been using melee/heavilly avoiding firefights were I can, if you treid to shoot even just 50% of your enemies, maybe even 30% you come across in the earlier portions of the game you'd run out of ammo very fast.

Tis awesome tbh

Finished Hard Mode, playing game again on Survivor Mode.

Thoughts:

-Bricks are my best friend against almost everyone. Throw brick -> sprinting melee weapon attack kills humans and runners in one melee hit. Brick melee kills Clickers from the side and back. I prefer bricks over bottles due to lethality concerning Clickers.

-Saving Molotovs for enemies and situations bricks cannot solve. Like that spoiler enemy type...Molotovs are super handy against those guys. Of course, if I have excess Molotovs somehow, I use them.

-Not using shivs on anything except shiv doors...and still running out of shivs. Saving shivs by luring Clickers away from stuff using bottles. Finding all the safes/combinations.

-Ammo is very rare. If my allies have decent guns, they get to do the heavy lifting while I do Benny Hill impressions.

-unhelmeted humans/runners die in one headshot, though melee or stealth kill are preferable. Helmet/Armor guys almost always get beaten down, strangled, or immolated.

Multi is a very pleasant surprise. its a bit of a shock to start of with a combined ammo count of 10 rounds for both your primary and secondary with no ammo pickups.
