A lot of people recently have been using Google Earth to get an idea of a village in Europe to fight over, and that always seems to lead to well-done maps.

I live in Europe so plenty of inspiration all around me Tongue.

I pick a theme, usually rural because urban is hellish and I just start with a random image of a rural community in my head and get to it Wink. (Then as I start laying down some rough outlines for my vague map idea I keep getting new ideas to improve and expand.)

I used google earth for 4p_Crossroads (see the original thread for the comparison!)  and for Ardenne Valley I was inspired by some aerial photos from the Battle of the Bulge.
