I just thought of an interesting idea. When you make companies, as well as changing the name, you can specialise it.
Specialising a company would give pros and cons. Here is an example.

I register and select the Infantry Doctrine.
My 3 companies can be changed to be 1 of 4 specialisations.

Balanced

This would be the default. Just like the companies are at the moment.

Pros:
*All the normal stuff, nothing added nothing taken away.

Cons:
*No bonuses.

Heavy Infantry

All about infantry, hard hitting, and powerful.

Pros:
* Cheaper Rangers.
* More Ranger Available.
* SMGs, BARs adnd Bazookas cheaper.

Cons:
* More expensive armour.
* ?

Mechanised Infantry

Fast moving, quick to respond.

Pros:
* Cheaper Halftracks, cost less pop and more available.
* Faster Infantry.
* More space in halftracks for troops.
* Infantry Platoons can come on battle already in halftracks if they are put in the platoon. (Platoon: 2 Riflemen Squads and a Halftrack)

Cons:
* No Shermans - Too Slow.
* Weaker Infantry.
* ?

Artilery Support

All about artillery. Support the advance of your men and allies, with fire from the sky.

Pros:
* Cheaper Howitzer, more available.
* Better Range for the Howitzer and mortars.
* Stronger Artillery.
* Better site for infantry - spotters.

Cons:
* Not too good for 1v1s.
* Less armour available.
* Not as good units - All about artillery.

That's only the basic idea, needs probably more pros and cons for them.
Same idea for other docts, simply specialising, allowing for people to better change companies to how they like to fight.

I think this would be quiet cool to have. Players can play how they like more, without being too restricted. Might mean a lot of work, and of course, 2.0 is more important. Would be interesting to see afterwards though.

Yeh, i know, that would mean spam. Would need loads of cons to mean that that are easily killed if not used right. But still be Heavy Infantry. Or, get rid of Heavy Infantry, and have Mountain Infantry or something cool.
fldash, maybe its cos its a cool idea  Wink. Maybe in my spare time, i might put something like this together (not in EiR), you pick a doct, then the division or whatever from the selections, then you can start building things, with all the pros and cons of what you picked.

In my version you dont pick from premade options, you create your own.

And its simpler to inticrate you only have to make a diagramm where the player can place his mark and then take the numbers for that mark: X: 50 / Y: 60 for example and translate them into viva a mathematic calculation.

Well, 2 of 3 are already a focus of doctrine trees which reflect the advantages you posted, albiet without disadvantages.
