Anyway, here's a replay of the unit trying to pull off (of course skip to the end, and watch the Firefly that is heading back);

This replay can't be watched anymore since the coh update.
Code:
04:05:20.06   GAME -- Error reading header for recorded game PLAYBACK:6p_forest.2013-12-08.17-32-16.rec

The code which manages the exp looks fine to me and without being able to watch the replay, looking for strange events, I'm afraid, there is nothing I can do about it at the moment.
Has anyone else encountered a problem with an unit losing its exp?
I need further hints to elaborate what exactly happened.

If the game ended because of the control territory timer, and the Firefly was still on field.  Then it is deemed captured, and thus reset. It was still in your inventory because it wasnt destroyed.

I personally have had this happen once with a church croc who was too slow to make it back to spawn.

So you pressed the retreat off field upgrade that vechs have, the firefly survived ? And them back in the launcher it had no experience ?

Why are you the only one to find these one off bugs tig

Well sometimes I have the same with HT's or Arty... This is nothing new really.

Emplacements and garrisonable units have always been buggy tho.

I recall the roo crazy days when you could pack em with units loose em and still retain the vet
