Of course there is a way. Have paypal tied to a Bank account, and make payments from the paypal to the bank account to pay the credit card that pays the server costs

That would entail the paypal account being changed to my name, tied to my bank account, tied to my credit card.........

Unless of course Eirrmod finds someone he trusts enough to have the Paypal tied to their bank and credit card, and then trusts them to have administration of the server. Essentially handing the entire mod over to them.
That person would also need to have the financial capability to cover the costs when a shortfall arises. And yes, the shortfall will arise just like it did 2 years ago  Wink

Its a sad truth about EiR, because of small player base, that there is no avoiding dodgy situations like the ones being described.

Even hosting a game doesn't secure anything for new players.  Even when they 5/6 of players needed to get stomped the whole room empties as soon someone else hosts a game, and they get cut out.

I suppose part of this is the learning curve, but there is also that mystical and intangible EiR factor where certain players wont play anything seemingly imbalanced, or only with a certain clique of pals, or insist on 2v2s versus 3v3s so as to maintain the "quality" of the game.  I have learned to live with all of that, but I do feel bad for new guys who really have no hope unless they know someone in the launcher.

In short, I don't think there's any real solution to all this, the nature of EiR in some ways promotes it (who wants to lose reward units or vet?), but some folks could make more of an effort to make it less inhospitable.  But, like Smokaz said it's a social game, and like society, we have our fair share of jerks.

Andy's donations are still sitting in a paypal account doing nothing because there is no way to transfer the funds to a credit card to pay anything. Beleive me, nothing would make me happier then to be reimbursed the  $3,000.00 I currently have invested in a community that for the most part treated me like a piece of shit.

This thread has reached it's "natural" conclusion. Refer to moderators/devs if you have questions about how to conduct yourself as a player in EIRR.
