1:30pm: The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division are detoured to a nearby town to reinforce No.2 Commando.
1:40pm: Upon arrival they discover that the combined forces of the 1st Fallschirmjägerdivision and the 3rd Panzer Division have fallen back after their defeat at Nuenen and are holding the town centre.
2:00pm: Despite intense fighting the Allied forces gain little ground and regroup on the outskirts of the town.
2:10pm: The Axis launch a counter attack and push the Allies out. The Allies, however, are prepared and a killing field is created by the lack of cover and the Axis suffer substantial losses. Meanwhile, the new Cromwell prototype (the Comet) is brought onto the battlefield.
2:15pm: The Allies have the opportunity they need and they make a concentrated push against the disheartened axis forces and the fighting converges into the centre of the town. Each side prepares for a bloody battle and the officers know that little of this town will be left when the fighting subsidies
