Hello all,
My friend and i discovered this amazing mod for CoH this afternoon.  We followed the instructions to the book.  We set up our armies and created a battle.  We hosted a game using both CoH's original maps and the custom ones.  What happens every time is after loading, the map appears, but the mini map is a black box, and you cannot click on any of your squads to deploy them.  All that happens is when you double click on core assault etc. etc., it takes you to the spot where they appear.  The clock that tells how much time is left until reinforcements are available stays at 3:00 and we can't click on anything.

Any ideas?

Looks like you have bad installs... I'd try re-installing the modification.  You both used the launcher?

Yes, we both used the launcher to download the battle files.  So you think that reinstalling EiR would fix this?

Ok, just uninstalled and tried to re-install, and I was greeted by a whole bunch of error messages on install.  Maybe the install file on the server is corruted?  Is there any place that i download this form?

Launcher should keep you up to date, if you used it.

Try the launcher again...

Make sure it's in the Company of Heroes directory.

When the game errors out, press Control+Shift+` (the key to the left of 1) (US Keyboard) and take a screenshot of the console.

Make sure you have a registered retail version that is up to date, it does not work with older versions.

The file in the log in public alpha testing is always up to date and not corrupted. I would redownload that file and reinstall onto a copy of the game that is fully updated and then try the launcher again to make certain that you are up to date 100%, then play your game. Keep in mind, if you've pirated the game it won't work with EiR.

sounds like one of you is using windows vista the awesome OS 

check the technical forum, theres a highlighted thread what you have to do

I run Vista and I develop and run the mod without any issues.

I'd recommend you that both you and your friend try to play a game with some people that can get it to work, because maybe just one of you has a problem and if so it's easier to solve the problem if we know who.

As second, you might also want to check if you maybe have a modification installed that changes the actual CoH files, so that there might be a mod-conflict there.

One thing about the launcher, sometimes you lose connection with the EiR launcher thus you may find yourself unable to start it up sometimes, but if that happens you just have to wait a few seconds.
If it lag's out while you were downloading updates then just wait a few minutes as well and it should run properly if the connection to the launcher works for you again.

By the way Fldash, I find the chat in the launcher a bit unhandy, I actually think that that might be causing the lag on the launcher because it's linked to the chat on the site too. Chat on the site is handy enough but the chat in the launcher it might be not essential, it's just a game launcher after all.
