2.0 Qualifying Tournament rules and regulations.

Players will only use 1 profile in conjunction with the tournament from start to finish.

The profile of your choice will join a 2 v 2 team with another player.
You will decide and declare your side of choice as part of your application to the tournament.  (Axis vs Allies)

You may NOT change teams, nor sides with this profile while partaking in the tournament.

Your team will be entered into the database at which time you are free to play games vs the opposing teams.

You may play each opposing team in 1 set of games, on the map of tournament choice.  A set of games equals one attack and one defense by both sides.  When you are done you will respond in the tournament message declaring how many games you won and how many you lost vs the opposing team.

Any games beyond the first set will not count in the tournament.

The preliminary map of choice for the tournament will be RAILS AND METAL  <yes I am aware that it was used in the beta extensively, there is a reason for that, as it offers the most balanced game play for what your options are>

ALL PRELIMINARY GAMES MUST BE PLAYED ON THIS MAP OR THEY ARE VOID.

If you drop from a game, the game will continue until one side is the victor.  At which point it is classified as a win for that side. Decidable to report as per game, you CAN re-run the game if you so wish to be lenient and not report a drop.

If the game becomes bugged and unplayable in a lag loop, and no consensus can be formed on who won, both sides will be given a defeat.  If you participate in more then 1 game that ends in a lag loop your team will be disqualified as it is NOT a normal outcome of games.  Those playing can decide to replay the game and not report it if they wish, but if one side wants to report it, then it is considered reported.

Misreporting will cause your instant disqualification if it turns out to be malicious.

ALL TOURNAMENT MESSAGES WILL BE HIGHLY MODERATED, if you spam angry comments keep them out of the official message or you will lose your right to post in them, and could be disqualified from the tournament.

I will be playing in this tournament, as such I have asked cozmo and another to be announced person to be a stand in on any rulings that I am part of as a player.  This way tournament legality is not questioned.

Once we get a clear image of how many teams there will be involved I will dictate the minimum number of games needing to be played in order to qualify for the playoffs.

The first round of playoff slots will be decided by win % for those above the minimum games played mark.

Hopefully we will have enough slots for 8 allies and 8 axis to be part of the playoffs, if the axis side has 20 teams and allies have 8, all the allies will go, and only 8 of the axis.  So be aware of how many of each side have signed up before you sign up.
Game reporting will be announced later in another message to not clutter this.

Please sign up here with your profile name, your partners profile name and if you will be axis or allies.

it does not matter if you will be american or british or what doctrine you will choose.  just if you are allied, say allied.

you can switch and test and play whatever faction on that side you wish throughout the tournament.  Due to 2.0 being newly released I realize people will want to fiddle.   If you want to play the opposing faction, use a second account, or just remake your account back to the tournament faction to do your tournament games, as once you decide and declare you can NOT change it in the tournament.

This initial round of the tournament will run for approx 1 month.  This will allow enough teams to be formed after the release date and enough time for those of differing time zones to get enough games in to be considered for the playoff slots.

play offs will be played over a week after the initial qualifying ends, again giving chance for all games to be finished.  If a team makes the playoffs but can not play, they will be bumped for the next team in line.

last post, i think.  We will be using 2.0 as it is presented to us, we will ask for no dev help in running this, but I would very much ask for an official tournament message board here on EIR to help organize the ensuing clutter.

if we can't do that, I will supply one on my personal guild message boards, but it would be more benificial to do it here, please and thank you forum gods.

if the devs like the way this is done perhaps they will look at expanding the medals present in the royal rumble pre2.0 fight with a individual one for the tourny winners.

Of course I'm going to play Allies, you fool.

I don't plan on going British or PE. I like the Americans and I like the Germans. I think they are diverse, yet balanced. The Brits and PE don't have MG teams, reasonable arty (for the base units, not doctrines. In docrtines, Brits have arty galore, and PE have a Hummel), or a smorgasboard of units they way I like. So, I won't touch them. I'm assuming that most people (active people) will switch to one of the two new factions, but I won't. I despise the PE, and british infantry is unreasonably slow, and indiversified (commandos are the only alternative, as the Sappers cover as half-infantry, half-engineers).

Hey, I know I haven't been around much...

However if anyone needs a team-mate let me know. I am excited to get in and mix things up.
