I believe in freedom of speech.

Uncontrolled threads should only be edited, locked or deleted if they are illegal, dangerous or pornographic.

The forum moderator should be more careful with this. The edited and locked thread was neither overly offensive nor senseless.

That was clearly offensive.  Not seeing that is idiocy.  Unless, of course, you find someone saying your have low IQ to be unoffensive.

If so, let me know, and I'll constantly remind both of you that your IQ is quite low, and when you get upset, I'll then say "it's not really offensive" or "it's not overly offensive", just like you.

As for it being locked, that's debatable, personally I don't mind.  However saying it wasn't really offensive is just silly.

'Offensive' is really subjective tbh, judging by Brad's reply to that thread he didn't particularly find it offensive... so there was no reason to lock it. In addition, not like Ucross has never been offensive Wink.

The thread was not overly offensive.

You want to edit and lock every thread where someone calls someone else low on IQ?

Editing and locking the thread was way too strict moderation handling.

Then why is there a moderator? Tongue

Now that we're on about moderation, I can't edit & make new guides anymore Sad.

calling out people is against forum rules, leaving it up is kind of against the point of that rule

This may be the most offensive thing I've read.  At least, today.

The reason I locked that thread is because it was specifically created for the sole purpose singling out 1 member of this community in an attempt to publicly humiliate him in front of everyone else. This wasn't a simple "haha X is stupid" kind of post; it was more questioning the players mentality towards EiR and blatantly showing other members that he/her is stupid beyond belief (their words, not mine).

There is Free Speech on this forum, but when it goes to a personal level and attacks a member of the community, then I have a right to protect that member.

I was just pointing out the irony that we seem to spend so much time on such topics rather than getting on with the real business of the mod.

I wasn't attacking you akranadas mate i support you as well, i just wish people would take a good look at themselves before posting half the time rather than let roll with all the dribble.

No it doesn't.

There is also this nifty little button on the bottom of each post called 'Report to Moderator' I suggest using it if you see something that you think might need moderating.

It goes in against the rules and it should be removed.
