EiR has been out for quite a while now. We've all played through at least one war, and fought countless battles. There were the glorious moments, the desperate moments, and of course, the human error moments where you want to slap yourself for doing some absolutely stupid. So let's share some of those moments to look back on them and see how simple mistakes can make costly errors or just some weird stuff.

The worst mistake I think I've made was retreating a Vet 2 Sniper at the end of the game in front of a lone Panther only to have it chase down my Sniper. If I had just kept it from moving, that Sniper might have lived to see another day.

In another war, I had my Calliope hotkeyed to 1 and used it to barrage 2 Schreck Grenadier squads a few dozen meters away. I fired away and unknowingly massacre a Vet 2 Riflemen squad that was garrisoned in the building between my Calliope and the enemy.

Oh, I dont want to lose these pioneers with the goliath still on them. I better just put the goliath down next to my last couple shrekkers. Hey, is that a mortar firing?

This may be the most offensive thing I've read.  At least, today.

witnessed or done?

hmmm

I haven't done MANY outright stupid things to be honest.. I am a technical player, and usually rather modest about it, but mistakes... I generally don't make many more then one time each.  (I do get out played, but not usually due to mistakes on my part)

I do remember one of the first wars I was in, I had the only ferocity army, back when ampm went for the improved ranges in terror.  I went against stumpsters marines.  All vet 3 rifleman group.  I took my full 60 popcap of mp40 volks grenadiers, hit ferocity, crossed a road into stumpsters full vet 3 force.. and my troops dissapeared in an instant, everyone of them.

BUT witnessing them, I love it when someone tries to retreat 1 unit out of 5, the unit dies JUST as they hit the retreat button and because it dies it has selected all the units as active and retreats them all..

And to elaberate on gamma's sniper moment...  never ever retreat a sniper even anywhere near a tank its a 100% death shot if it shoots.

Yep, I broke the number one rule for Snipers. Never retreat unless it's the only option remaining.

I dont do Error´s. Error´s come to me. Freezing troops and so on;

However throwing that bundle nade at 2 rifleman squads right in front of the ally might was stupid since it only killed my 4 stormys and hardly damaged the rifleman;

Or maybe letting a vet. 3 sherman (in my spawn) die to lasz0r-schrecks.

Or maybe building tank traps and locking a allyed tank in;

"Man, my tank is german, and they cant aaaall have stickies, just rush in there for a moment itll be allright" well it never is  Grin

overextending with shreckers right into an hmg is also something i like to do from time to time
"run bitch RUN!!! oh.. oh shit! damnit did it again.."

Getting into a traffic jam with my retreating tanks always makes me feel a little dumb.  Smiley

Well, my Sherman just got slaughtered by AT fire... I had better send in my next one to see if that was a fluke.

Pretty much most of my stupid moves involve losing tanks carelessly.  Such as sending unsupported panzers through the fog of war to help an ally under attack only to run into a .57 and rangers.  Or calling in a tank to the front line and then forgetting about it because of a 60 second deployment timer and then remembering only when I see it sitting alone in a field about to die.

I keep losing my Stuhs or Stugs, it's ironic because I wrote the tank guide and a "how to use the Stug/StuH properly" but I don't even stick to it myself most of the time haha!

I remember this situation only that it was a vet 3 sniper. Can't recall if it was you commandernewbie. It was a vet whore that's for sure (excuse the expression). Who was it that had all those vet 3 snipers last autumn?

I didn't make the mistake, but I was involved.

Stranger had his Panther out, so I decided 'LAWLZ CLOWNCAR'. So I charge it at his Panther, so I'm circling the panther with it, letting it get shot and killing infantry. Then Torjado brings in a goliath to kill it. The Panther makes the killing shot RIGHT when Torjado hits the button for Goliath go boom. The infantry died. The Panther had like, 10% health left from the goliath.

I got a sniper to vet2 in 1 game. Then, it got in a sniper duel with another vet 2 sniper. I used infantry to bait the other, and BAM! One soldier dies. Then BAM! my sniper fires.... and misses by like 5 feet. Then I pull him back.

After maybe 10 minutes of tense sniper combat, all shots MISSING, I pull my sniper back for a few minutes. Then, he goes in, sans cease fire, and blows an MG trooper's head off. Then gets annihilated  by MG spray, a mortar, and a sniper bullet simultaneously.

A stupid mistake I made that I can remember becuase I am sure that there is more, is when I placed a pack facing a bridge that only troops could come across on. I realized my mistake when the armor came over the other bridge and at that point I instantly felt pretty damn stupid.
