Wanted to share this with the flight sim fan's in the community.
Over Flanders Fields is a WW1 transformation of the CFS3 game into a living breathing WW1 Arena where you can step into the boots of an American, British, French, or German scout or two seater pilot and take to the skies in the great air war.

If you're even remotely fascinated by the old flying crates, this is a must.  Full feature list and AMAZING preview video can be found here www.overflandersfields.com

I love IL-2 but this doesn't quite match it.  There doesn't seem to be a damage engine for the aircraft, like wings breaking off, etc...

That's the ONLY problem I ever had with the CFS series. No damage engines, just a big freakin fireball when you hit the ground.

On the contrary, i shot the upper right wing off of a sopwith camel yesterday, and shortly there after tore my lower left wing off in a high speed pull out =D.

There's all kinds of that stuff.

Love IL 2 as well.  This is more for the uber-realism nuts.  It is a good alternative to metal birds.

They've added wreckage/plane wrecks on crashed aircraft now.

Theres a short insight to that in the preview movie (13 mins long)
Worth a look.

IL2 frustrates me bc i can hold a tight turn and never be shot down bc the ai has the lead computing skills of a kid with a slingshot.

Full realism or none.  Other than that i love the game.  nice mp.

I mean, in-flight damage engine, like shooting off a wing and sending the aircraft into a spin.

I only play online when I do a flight sim. The AI is always failcakes.

Weirdest thing that ever happened to me in IL-2, realism server. I was doing a low altitude strafing run vs a German tank column with my IL-2, this 109 came out of nowhere blew my tail off with his 30mm. Plane went into a spin and managed to land itself.....

I've sent many a foe spinning to their death.  I assure u its possible.

CFS 2 or 1 were horrible, i agree.  THey've done alot with this conversion.

As far as MP, i currently fly co-op campaign missions with two buddies on the weekend.

U assign urself to a sp campaign mission, host a server, they join, and fly the assigned mission.

All players hours/kills/claims/medals/etc are logged and persist (untill the inevitable end of the pilot =) )

Good thing I was only at 150ft or so =) Any farther of a drop and she probably would have exploded.

I make it a habbit to be bombing something (usually shipping) and peppering my engine and fuselage with debris =D.

Sweet. That mod looks great. I have CFS3, never tried IL-2, looks good though. Got bored of CFS3, not enough change, just flying sortie after sortie. Main thing i hate about flight sims, is when the ground is all 2D and really low detail, no realism.

Phase 2 is worth trying (its free to dL) to get familiar with the new campaign manager (runs independently from CFS3).  Phase 3 will be coming soon.  it will be payware, but shall be worth it i feel.
