Lately, the EIR community has seen a surge in new players. With every new player that joins a game, we have older players requesting that they download, and use, Ventrilo. However, Ventrilo has a forty player maximum, and in recent times (I.E. Now, and probably throughout the March/Spring Break), that limit has been reached. If we want to keep our efficient, communicating teams like the 'Good ol' Days', ventrilo will need to be upgraded.

Now, keep in mind that these things cost money [70% of readers close the window after reading this sentence]. Most people here have enjoyed the liberty of free gaming for a while, myself included. However, I am only 17, and do not own a credit card. Yes, it is an excuse, but I will find another way to help. I have already promised money for my repaired connection last January.

Remember how it was the donations that recharged the initiative to get 1.9 completed? It works (and will work) the same way with 2.0. While we have several developers, each working on a different area of our mod, there isn't much push to work full-throttle if no one is contributing. Unlike you folks (who are mostly young adults, living at home, eating pizza and spending 10 hours a day on the computer, like me), the Devs have lives. You know; spouses, childrens, groceries to buy, lawns to mow, and especially [I sound like my parents, I know] bills to pay. Fldash is paying for all of the things we take for granted out of his own pocket; the website, Ventrilo, and his precious time devoted to maintaining EIR to a certain level to stop us folks from bickering because Nebelwerfers are too OP, jeeps can't be crushed, and my panther is being blocked by minehold's puma because he is too busy dropping from the game...
Imagine how messed up his kids are going to be, from all the lack-of-attention they get because of you. Think of the children for once!

Let me state a quote from Fldash:

"I want to thank those of you who showed your support with donations! I received over $130 from 4 members! Your support is ultimately what pushed me to put my nose to the grindstone and get this ball rolling faster than it was before. The community owes you a great debt of gratitude."

Four members... Yeah. Very helpful.

How about we try to make a five-ten dollar donation? I won't do the math, because I don't want to, but it will add up to Fl, and it will come around to benefit all of us. Don't expect other people to do it, and that should 'somehow' cover your share, talk to dash, don't whine about not being able to help out, and get it done!

Oh, I study Computer Science, and would much prefer working with C/C++ libraries.

PHP, just like any other web application is a pain in the ass, since you have to consider different browsers. And its just too limiting. Synchronization is also a bitch. Writing a whole professional CMS (Oh I'm hoping to god without a forum) is going to be a real pain in the ass.

I like to write libraries. Not applications, with like windows and stuff, because I hate having to make it look "cool" or having it be "user friendly". I like to write fast and optimal code that does important stuff in the background.
