If you take the grind out of the game it truely does lose some of its appeal.  And I agree with Bonte, T4 for free is rather far.  Maybe the CPs should just get you a T3 and then you have to actually work up for the T4.  Trust me, all successful MMOs have that goal to reach for, and the T4 should always be a goal to reach for, even for a new player.

Word of advise, it is much better to go stright for your T4 and then spread out.

While it is nice to build up, it sucks to get run over.  =P

I like that new companies get the extra Cps and RB's. It really helps.

I love the change myself, I love that every player i fight against has the ability to put up  a long built up fight against me.  Its a challange and not a cake walk.

Why not just max out CPs and set all RBs to 50 then? Why even go through with kidding ourselves that there is persistance other than vet.

I like it as well, it lets new players (since we have been getting ALOT of them lately) have a semi-fair chance against vetted companies/players.  It is also nice that older players can delete their company and start another one in another doctrine to test it out without having to go through the grind that is gaining CPs.  I know with 2.0 you will be able to swap with your CPs (just lose vet on the troops) but until that is put in, this is the closest thing to it.

As an example, I have been playing armor for about 2 weeks, when I wasnt playing my axis account.  I went 0-15 playing armor, and just tried to get somewhere with it, but losing all the time was getting me nowhere.  So at the suggestion of some of the players that know my play style they suggested I try airborne (I havent done airborne since 1.3-1.4 or so).  I am now 3-1 with my AB company, and I have no T4's, as I spread the CPs out to give myself (what I feel) is a well balanced company.  So the CPs and the RBs helped me try out another doctrine without the grind.  Its worth it.

Yes but there's a difference between having the new players actually experiencing having to build up a company, which will keep them playing longer, and just giving them everything for free, no longer requiring them to build up a company. The latter will make them get bored of the game pretty fast.

It's also somewhat unfair to everyone else who had to actually play games to get to that level.
Imagine if in WoW, new players get a lvl 80 account just so they can compete in PvP.

The system's great but there should be a limit to how much they get, they shouldn't just get a T4 for free imho.

Working to a t4 is one of the biggest things that keep you playing... getting it for free is not amazing... up to a t3 would be better IMO.

Well I never played WoW (other than Beta test and that was enough for me, because I hated it) but I played DAoC for 6 years.  If you have a level 50 character in that game you can make a new character and automatically start it at level 30, so you dont have to do the "grind."

I think its fine the way it is, those of us that have been here and "earned" our CPs know that we earned them, those that are new will earn them when the wipe happens, simple as that.

Imagine if in WoW, new players get a lvl 80 account just so they can compete in PvP.

Imagine if WoW had 300 players, all in one zone. New players get a lvl1 account to play with everyone, at least half of which have lvl80. Would they keep playing long?
Here, they do not get the luxury of PvE. They can't go around avoiding the lvl80's until they're ready. We need to give them an opportunity to fight right off. We can either give them at least in part, the same abilities you have. Or nerf all abilities into insignificance.

Its not an ideal solution, but its the only one available to us now. We might have to make wars reasonably short, so that new players get to "enjoy" working to getting T4 abilities. However, I'm unsure if people will enjoy having all their shit wiped, lets say every month, for a new war.

Once we have a rating system and a much larger player base, then we can remove this. While the rating system is almost certainly in the not so distant future, the player base is something we can only hope for.

What they dont have is xped units,
But 1rb and cp a day is extem.
I would like it to be 0,5 rb and 0,5 cp a day (4 cp and rb a week)

Except even if you give them lvl 80 accounts, they wouldn't keep playing.
The entire thing that keeps people playing in WoW is grinding levels and building up an account.

Beyond that you just have instances & PvP and I know for a fact that the majority of people stops playing once they're at max level with nothing to gain.

I think the amount of new players playing these days shows how much the CP/RB compensation system is working.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very good thing they get a large amounts of CPs & RBs so that they can compete.
The only thing we're questioning here is if giving them a T4 off the bat is not a little too much.
