I have:
Vista
COH: Oppossing Fronts

I downloaded and installed the most recent setup file, but when I go to start the launcher it says:

Download Required
"There are 1 files missing or outdated. (Total size: 192512 bytes)"

I click Yes to download the missing file

It downloads fine (the red bar moves across at least) and then it says
"Cannot update mod files please close COH and try again. (Error code: 13)"

So its busted for some reason ( and I do not have COH open)

When I use the shortcut and login, only one EIR game comes up and I cannot join it (the only game I saw was a non-vanilla COH map)

Can anyone help me?

Until 2.0 is released you wont be able to play EIR (sorry) because you only have OF you need vanilla CoH to play EIR as it stands.  When 2.0 is released you will then be able to play the OF factions.

When this war is over, lol, not sure when that will be.  Alot of us are hoping soon, but we are also hoping for a complete package and not just the ability to play Brits and PE.  Keep checking back here regularly and you will see updates to the community about it.

Just go out and buy the vCOH. I had the same problem, until I saw COH going for like 10 bucks. Buy it, it's worth it, just to play this mod.

That's not true. It should work. The current mod works with OF, just until 2.0 you can't play as the British or the PE. I have OF, and the installer for that uninstalls the original CoH before installing. My game is currently at 2.2*** and i run EiR fine.

No. He doesn't own the original COH, so he can't use Americans or Wermacht, which are needed for pre-2.0 EIR.

I don't know about the COH/OF stuff. Here goes as far as the Launcher is concerned:
1. Do you have a EIR_Launcher_Update.exe file in your CoH folder. If so, remove it.
2. Try running the latest version: http://europeinruins.com/updater/eir_files/EIR_Launcher.exe This one shouldn't need to update that one file. The issue may come back when you try to download battle files.
3. Try to run the launcher as administrator (Right click, properties.. its somewhere there, I forget since I don't run vista). This should automatically happen, but it's worth a try.
