I have noticed that EIR has done successfully what others have tried and failed.  Making a continuous active battle enviroment has been a dream of some developers but they couldnt get it quite right.  Back in the days of TA cavedog had the boneyards, which was to be a continuous war on different planets represented on a map in a browser.  Westwood tried it with RA2 and did it in game, you could pick a terriotory and start a battle.

Just wondering what your thoughts are, and what kind of contribution the EIR devs have done for gaming

Well they have done something that (as you said) others have tried and failed at.  If they continue to improve upon this, I think they are likely to make a name for themselves much like those guys that created whats that game called....oh yes, counter strike (now integrated into Valve).  It is early, but I see it going far.  With the help of the community we have going here backing them I think great things can come of it.

I completely agree, and am excited to see where this goes in the future, also this mod as brought the enjoyment of CoH back for me.  There is a great community here and i plan on being around for quite awhile.
