I'm going to say it... flame me if you must.

At their current price, Airborne are OP.  There I said it.  The ability to be instantly at the point of battle is tremendous!  We just played a match v. 3 airborne companies and it was ridiculous how many drops they were able to purchase.

And don't give me that crap that they are a weak unit.  Fireup + nades on every squad is amazing.

I will never again play in a match where the allies have more than 1 airborne company because of the spam ability of it until the situation is fixed.

Flame on.

I'm not going to flame, I'm going to be reasonable.

I have Aerial Brothers, which means my company is based around one thing, lots and lots of airborne. So, that's what I have. The price is fine, if you don't have AA, you can't purchase very many, and if you try to make your main infantry airborne without AA, it just doesn't work well.

Buy an Ostwind.

Lolz thats a dumb thing to say.

The game you are referring to DasNoob, was very very close.  Its not like we totally killed you.  We had like 2 partial squads left.

I"m actually going to wipe my company and try something else.  I will miss the Medkit upgrades.

Do call in timers effect airborne drops?  It sure as hell never felt like it; it probably does though.

As for the ostwind, it is easier than an m10 to kill.  I'm not saying 1 airborne player in a match is OP or maybe even 2... i've dealt with 2.  But 3 with all of them having nades was amazing.  I consider myself an infantry specialist; for a long time I didn't even take tanks.  Fireup + nades + instant spawn at the point of action = ownage.

Well, no where near all the airborne had nades. I was the only one who had drop rediness, the others had to wait for their stuff to drop.

It was a close match.  Had there been no lag it might have gone differently.  I love to micro infantry, and when you start spamming the retreat button with 3 members of a squad left just to get them out of the firefight and still have them die... eek!

Anyway i'm sure it was fun for your side, i'm not trying to "poo poo" your victory.

slowzo you play axis a lot.  Imagine your grens, all with assualt every 5 minutes (not quite the same as fireup/nades) and then be able to drop them on the other side of the map without needing to run there.  What would that be worth to you from an axis standpoint?

The dev team is aware of some potential airborne problems that are not so superficial as just dropping and cheap cost.  These will likely be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Its rough Das Noob i agree, the airborne have a distinct advantage to drop and overwhelm at the front line without having to hump it to the action like the rest of us.  Bring on fallshrimjager i say and let the allies feel the pain of real para's with assault rife upgrades!!!

Until then i think there needs to be with reference to MCP a timer on call ins, the immediate drop is maybe just to strong.  But im not going to gather up a bunch of people with torches and pitch forks about it, but it should be worth discussing.

Hit up the launcher when you can, I need a shoulder to cry on while we wait 3 hours for a match!

Base airborne are not too cheap.  Its when you get the Tier ability that decreases the cost by a significant amount that they do become cheap.  Timers do affect them, the ability called Drop Readiness allows them to drop in instantly.

Ostwinds may die quick to ground forces, but if you put one on the field with a ton of airborne and they will wtfpwn them, before they even hit the ground.

All very well, but unlike the rest of us Nubs airborne don't lug it up from the base line.  Its right into the thick of it.  With MCP that is a very powerful option.

I play airborne as well, have for the most part played it more than axis, for the mods history and i know how effective it is.

Personally I would consider making drops a executable action, while the rest of the time they have to walk on,  giving the airborne player the options for say 6-8 drops and increasing it to maybe 10-12 with another tier 4? like ariel brothers.  It still allows them to drop even make it with those six drops that they drop immediatly.  BUT  what it dosn't allow is the constant spam of airborne on the front lines,  i don't play / use airiel brothers but with the right RB allocation you can still effectivly keep the pressure on very significantly.
