hey guys my friend joins the game with the laucnher, dls the stuff ect, launches EIR, joins the game fine then we start... map loads but he gets a black screen. he can chat to other ppl and we can chat to him but the game wont start, the minimap is black.

we can play regular coh fine. he has admin on vista. his dmz is running, and there are no firewalls. Hes installed in c:\program files\THQ\Company Of Heroes im pretty sure... he had the game in another folder but when he installed EIR the game ceased to work and the launcher was fucked, so he uninstalled and deleted the whole game, reinstalled it in program files and now the launcher and stuff works fine... just a black minimap lol

any ideas?

Normally that's caused by Lag. But i'm no expert. You sure he wasn't downloading anything when you tried?

Yes its lag.

But if you use your Tactic map, you will no longer have a black mini map, this is due lag

Sounds like he has a map issue or didn't have the latest version of the game, maybe didn't restart the launcher or something?

Should produce a sync error if you have the wrong version of the map.
I've had this happen once, they had the wrong battle files in place.

Did you download the battle files through the launcher?

yes everything runs fine, battle files dl'd ect ect but we get the black minimap of death. we tried it together in 1v1s, him hosting me hosting ect, same problem
