Sniper gets 90 kills; goes from vet1 to 3.  Didn't see the double shot ability thou, may be bugged.

If what mobius just said is true then shame on you DBSight´s. SHAME ON YOU!

I think i might have to make a axis smurf with a bit.... counter sniping.

Is that one sniper still alive?

Double-shot was disabled by Relic, it no longer works AFAIK.

Mobius,  in game shit talking aside, i really reconmend you take a look at the replay and try and discern where you went wrong with your attacks.

I only have 4 vet 3 units i don't know about db but beyond that its a myriad of vet 2 and vet 1s.

While losing smarts on the ego have a long look at your tactics, somthing ucross said to me a few days ago really sticks out allot about how players tend not to wait till thier pop not localised and attack with say less than thier actual maximum pop cap.

On 3 seperate occasions you attacked with 12-18 pop against my full 30-38 pop even if they where vet 3s that would be a very unfair fight, but whos fault is that?

Try to learn from the games and while losing hurts, i did an awful lot when i joined trust me i know,  i took the approach to watch as many replays as possible of my action and what my opponents did and try to learn from it.

I think the major fault of our team was engaging people in the top 20 leaderboard. I have no clue how were supposed to win against a force with the experience of 20+ games. It’s not just tactics. Having a sniper with twice the distance of anything else is going to help you a lot more then micro-ing it perfectly.

did you look at the replay?  seriously asses it in a reational mind, half of your attacks where peice meal, the one effective push you pushed me off my position, but didn't even follow it up and secure the next line allowing me back in again.

You fed the attacks in slowly and with one or two squads at a time, yes the sniper was effective but it was not faced with a mass it was faced with a 1-2 squads at a time. At the start  you lads started with 3 atgs.  1-2 would have been enough, thats allot of them and you didn't defend the house on my side but gave it up without a push.

I really think you guys should look at the replay and maybe look to asses where you could have been more effective.  You have the micro skills you need to adjust to the gameplay.

I had the same challenge when i joined and faced off against the top 20 on a regular basis and lost, but i took note reassesed what i was doing and listened to experianced players when they offered advice.

Aside from that thtb's guide is very good on tips and trick, and again watch as many replays as you can of the top 20 going at it against each other.

This replay is a great example of top 20 players duking it out have a look at what they do and how they approach the game yes it has me in it but i think it was a great game.

Battle  4609 map is crossroads.   Sorry missed that one
(another shout cast stumpster?)

I really would like you lads to learn to enjoy the challenge of this mod.

To be fair, you never mentioned your issue with who we were or brought it up until you guys used it to justify spawn camping.  There were no false pretenses.

Anyways.  So no double shot?  Thats kinda imba vs the allied sniper.  Maybe make it get officer armour and a bit more health to stop insta countersnipes?

double shot was needed due to the larger squad sizes the allies have, they don't have the same impact an allied sniper does.

actaully dbsights sniper with extra range is creatable at creation due to cps, omni...  he was vet 0 in the game before but due to actual micro use with a cp any single player in this game could have, he managed to stay alive.  I watched, and protected his sniper enough times, it is combinition of sight and micro..

What were we supposed to do, say "Hey guys, just so you know, we're kinda new, so don't bring in any of your good units OK?"? Yeah, I'm sure you guys would have been real accomodating.

"Spawn camping" is a moot point in this game - units arent any weaker when they just come in than they are anywhere else, in fact, they have a blitz modifier so they're better off... Generally, sitting around a spawn is a terrible idea as the enemy can wipe you out with little warning if they bring in a big platoon. We were just trying to take and hold territory, and the only way we could push and meet little resistance happened to be towards your spawn. To hold back in that situation would be to give up the game even earlier than we did.

Whatever. I'm done with this until the game gets a wipe; trying to play with such a disadvantage really ruins the fun that this mod can be.

not to be rude to you or any new player, but I hav eplayed with and against everyone for the last year in this mod.  I am done trying to make people happy with the teams I present in the launcher.  I will play with whom I want when I want with whichever company I want to play with.  And I am probably one of the more respectful people you will run into on here.  I do tend to play my extra companies more just to give more variation to both those I fight aswell as myself, but I don't do that anymore for your benifits...  this is a flaw with the game system and the fact that vet offers such great bonus's, aswell as the fact that I know how to play the game the way its intended.

This current version of the game has far less dissadvantages then ever in the past.  You should have been around in 1.2 when i started, i think it was 1.2... my first game was vrs a full cp/vet company that was sitting in my spawn, there was no spawn protection at this point.  Snipers were 1 popcap, oi vay..  armies reached up to 700 population, where now they are around 200..  be happy you didn't start new then!

No sympathy here.

When I started, there was no CP / RB welfare, you had to earn every point by playing games, and as the "new guy" every game you play is theoretically at a disadvantage.  I lost a ton of games.  I had trouble finding willing teammates who were not also weak themselves.  Prove yourself, and that changes fast.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell every new player.   - You will probably lose more than you win at first.  Expect it, do not let yourself be demoralized by it.  I don't care if you were a top 10 ladder player in VCoH, EiR plays out much differently.  There are many mistakes to be made until you learn all of the nuances.  You can take two things out of these losing games, the personal experience and unit veterancy.  So watch the replays, and be quick to retreat your units.

I can safely guarantee you that you will find the results are the same if you play the same players under "evenly matched" Company games, until you personally begin to gain more experience with this mod.

Or quit, that's fine too.

So your advice is "lose a whole bunch of games to get a little vet and learn how to play"? I did that. I know how to play the game, and I'm not too terrible either. I won twice in 2v2s yesterday before playing this particular match, and if you'll watch the replay I only start losing lots of guys when I lose all hope and send in swarms of infantry to try and kill something to try and get a little vet. Hell, we almost killed a Vet 3 Panther, but because of its veterancy, whoever was controlling it was able to develop the wonderful tactic of parking it between a Sherman and an AT gun and getting pounded on by both until it kills them. Vet 3 Grenadiers also have the awesome power to walk through mines and lose maybe 1 man out of a squad. Isn't that something?

I know I'm not great, but don't lecture me on "learning the game" or regale me with stories of "Back in my day..." when I am in fact semi-competent. I just find it rather annoying that there is no real way to sort games out such that you don't find out the hard way that the person you're facing has 100+ games under their belt, T4 doctrine abilities and more XP than a WoW character. Some kind of levelling system (similar to vCOH) visible in the EiR Launcher would, I think, solve at least that problem.
