I allready spoke to fl- about adding more modells to the game and read myself into the stuff

problem is relic didnt release a modell importer yet, so one can still only change skins/the look of allready implemented modells but theres no way to actually put in new modells and assign actions for them (like turn the turret, fire the gun and so on)

If Relic finally releases the tool youll hear about it, so far its just not possible

But could we do a lazy mans way till the tools come out? Just like what the Commando Realism mod did and if you ever played that mod you know what I'm talking about. There is no need for new models just re-name with new values and you could have a new tank.

If you just mess with stats but keep the same model, I'm not sure I'm fond of that idea.  It would impair your ability to visually ascertain a threat.  The time that clicking a fast moving vehicle just to see what it is and read its name --rather than attack it immediately or retreat-- necessitates is expensive. 

I know that might sound silly, but that second or two is pretty important, even if you click like the wind.

well if you could re-add the model with values then maybe you could skin it so it looks a little different.

We are talking about tanks silly.
Sticky do engine damage, but this isent about inf. at. You get schreck for nearly the same price that dont have limited use...

Yes there would be a way to put more versions of tanks in, going over skins and change the values of the unit for the mod..  maybe via adding a placeholder race to the mod.. (like, a second american army holding the modified versions in the standart slots)
Yeah that would work i think, but as i allready said, new modells is a no go so far

Ill have a look into the threads on the relic page again when im home from work. I didnt look closer into it so far because I can modell, but im not that good at skinning/texturizing.

If someone can change so much via skins that it looks like the desired version of the tank, we could give it a try.
