As you all know Under Heavy Fire, is the person in charge of the warmap, he's been working hard on it again as of late. And you can contribute to the warmap's progress by doing some research on important areas/sectors for the countries.

We could use a hand with research for the following:
France
Netherlands
Luxembourg (only a few sectors there Tongue)

And eventually Switserland/UK is welcome aswell. (Although not priority)

Keep in mind to:
only stick in important cities/areas, not too many little ones (but obviously there should be enough sectors) as it has to remain do-able to divide the country into sectors. But just posting good maps, etc will be of some help for sure!

What type of info would you want? WWII production figures? What it produced? City photos? Nearby installations?

I'll try to help. I'll be productive by tomorrow.

Sorry, must have not been very clear Smiley.

Maps, preferably detail maps, important area maps, overall maps, etc.
Just keep in mind it's to aid the warmap, which will divide countries into sectors.

No photos or anything, just maps Wink.

Just to add to what unknown has asked, mainly what i'm after is important places in this places:

-France
-Netherlands
-Luxembourg

Things I'm particularly after, if areas that played important parts in the war, but may not be well known.  (i mean we all know about normandy, Caen, Carentan, Cherbourg etc).  Rural areas in france, important land marks etc. (bridges, road, buildings, towns, farms, rivers etc etc)
These will be used to build sectors and will be fought over by you, the players.

We are talking about the WarMap (the map you'll use to see who is winning the war and where people are).  Not maps to play CoH on...

1944, just after D-day.

Mainly because we have no other choice, however it's alternate history, so ze germans can still win!

These are some questions/ideas/suggestion reguarding the warmap and other out gamer things.

As someone answered earlier EIR starts right after D-Day, but with the way resources are givin through actually owned territories wouldn't this put the allies at an economic disadvantage early in the game?
How would you balance this out. In reality I would say even this early in the war the allies had the major economic advantage, mainly America. As this translates to the game how would you balance this out vs axis control over Europe resources. I think giving just a flat set a resources to the allies every turn from American would be balanced. My way around this is starting with said "set of resources" have a random percentage destroyed (0%-50%) do to weather/axis naval activity ect.

Anyways let me know what you think.

The strategic map from Medieval TW:2 has most of the theatre divided up into sectors with major cities for each (albeit some outdated etc) I have a paper copy which might perhaps help provide some inspiration into dividing up the map into controlable areas, it would seem like the kind of thing we are after.

Just let me know if you want a copy and I can provide it  Smiley
