Right out of the gate, about half the players will lose the war and get no medals either, no matter how many games that they played.  I was top 5 or something in games played, but I lost the war and got fuckall.  That's life.  I don't see this as a problem, but more as an obvious part of all MMOs.  Those who play more do better.

How else could it possibly be done if not by directly, or indirectly basing it on how many games you play?

Should I win a medal if I play 1 game and win?  My first game as Allied Armor this war, I won, and had an 11.5:1 K/D.  Should I have retired and been able to collect 2 medals?  100% W/L!

Maybe avg territory gained?  i.e. territory gained/games played?  territories defended/games played?  total kills/games played? stuff like that would make a few more medals possibly available to players who are par or below par in total games.

Well, Draygon, you aren't being punished for playing less, the other guys are being rewarded for playing more!  Cheesy

I think all medals (or most medals) should take into account the number of games played and territories gained.  I mean if I play 20 games and gain 20 territories then it is better than someone who plays 200 games but only manages to take 19 territories, yet that person with 200 games will more than likely have a higher K/D ration than I would just because he has played that many more games.  Does that make him better than me? I would say no, I would say I am the better player because I show it more in stats for the games I have played.  It shouldnt be about quantity, but more about quality.

If I draw a 10 foot tall mural in crayon

and you paint a 1 inch canvas with paintbrush

which is better?

Which has more detail and looks better?  Its not about size, its quality that I would look for.  If you can paint the wall with the crayon and it looks good then I may take that; however if that canvas has more detail and looks like more time was put into it I would take it over the wall.

I think the way the statistics are set up just favor the person who has more time.

The guys behind EIR could create new medals for players who played the best in the shortest amount of time, but that's really up to them. It's all in the numbers I'd say.

Right, it is based on who has more time, Im saying it shouldnt be that way.  It should be based on how good a player truely is not how many games he can get in during a war.

Quality...not quantity.

If you'd notice, the top medals are awarded to those with the highest rating.  Rating will be determined by a players skill.

Thats all Im asking is for it to be based on skill not that someone can play 250 games in a war, nothing against Newbie cause we all know he is a very good player and he shows that in anygame he plays.  Other players like myself and a few others that are good players dont really get seen as good players because we cant play but a few games a week, and its just annoying.

They have medals for win/loss and kill/death ratio, so long as you've played the minimum required # of games.  In fact, there are only really 2 sets of medals that cater towards players who play more; the territories taken and defended.

How about a campaign medal no matter if your on the losing side or winning side.  Your get .5 of a warpoint for it and that way everyone gets somthing for their contribution to the war.

Is there a medal that actually awards everyone on the winning side?
Else only a small % of the winning side's team gets an award & WPs.

Probably would mean a lot more work for FL, since he'd have to give it to every account that's played a game Tongue
